Heritage pushed Camas to kicks from the mark last night in the district playoffs eventually losing (3-2).

That team was amazing. Exactly how you describe, with missing the top 2 kids to academy. But the players were good because they played on the same club team. Ask any one of them what they thought.

It's a joke that the coach keeps talking about how SHE won the trophy for the school. Don't you dare question her on that!

        Coach could care less

Speaking of letting coaches go.......Heritage had a very, very good team on paper. The only surprise was that they didn't win more league games with the group.

When the kids were pressed, with self applied pressure, they performed. The coach there could care less about the Boys program, and only puts any effort into the girls side.

Now, Heritage will go back into the abyss they normally occupy.

I feel sorry that the kids get such a second rate experience.

My sister told me Camas played a bunch of JV players because winning that game was actually a harder path forward. And still won.

Well no. The poster was correct. Camas brought up JV players for the playoff run. Those players and others who normally don't get time played in that game a bunch. No angle. Just truth. Heritage is a good team, can beat anyone on a given day. And did just that against Skyview and an even match with Camas.

Well, errr, jeeez, thanks for the backhanded compliment....I guess.....

If that was a sincere reply, I apologize, reading almost anything on this board is pretty miserable.

Heritage did have a good team, and they should have been contenders this year....but they're severely under-coached.

Would anyone disagree with "Camas has best coach in GSHL"? The gap between Camas' program and all of the others has been amazing although from time to time you see another school contend for a year or two until they fade back away.

It must be something in the air over there in Camas.

The girls coach resigned voluntarily to focus on other activities. The boys coach was a forced resignation (she got canned).

The truth is Camas HS has had a excellent feeder program. It used to be run by some well organized and very professional folks. The main guy over there was G.O., a real pro, and excellent coach. To bad he's been pushed out and incorrectly bunched in with SD, DH, and others at ***C during the purge. They did miss one bad apple though, maybe they'll figure it out.

Once the last of his cycle runs out, we'll see if Minder can coach non program kids. Only time will tell.

To answer you comment though, up to this point R.M. is very clearly the class of coaching HS ball in Clark County.

GO is definitely a good guy/coach but I'd like to point out that Camas HS was successful before GO arrived on the scene. Probably will continue for the foreseeable future as well.
I'm sure some of the credit goes to RM but it take talent too.
With both Union and Camas High Schools in the State Tournament this year (Top 16 teams in the state) I think one could say that Clark County is doing something right!

Doesn't GSHL (which is basicall Clark) get two slots in state, regardless? (I could be wrong because the bracketing and slotting rules are different for every school size.)

Who was girl's coach? Was she or he good? What is the reason the program gave for canning boy's coach?
