    Global Premier Soccer??

With NCS starting up a couple years ago and now GPS, would love to hear thoughts on these 'start ups' from others. Hear GPS is pushing hard right now to get things off the ground but can't find solid any information about them.

It's all marketing and nothing more.
You still need staff to implement and they definetly don't.

          http://www.gps-oregon.com/pdxtryouts

But I guess if you were truly interested for you kid, you would have found this on your own and called. More likely you're more interested in throwing mud.

Not throwing mud at all. Have been to that site but all it shows is tryout days/times unless I am missing something.

It's another organization (like the Timbers) that cannot grasp the community soccer scene. They have to do it by promoting BS and recruit parents who think their child is going to play for Bayern Munich. Oh, and it also enables guys to work full time in soccer while this pipe dream never flourishes. Organizations like this in the US will always have members chasing those dreams. That's why it only works in the USA. If this was in Europe they would not have a single member. We are so inept when it comes to soccer.

Sounds similar to the Elite Clubs National League that few local clubs have steered unsuspecting parents to pay for, out of pocket. Promoting BS promises that include, but not limited to playing the 'best' teams ever, coaches will give you scholarships. The obvious question never comes from parents, "If what you say is true". "Why do we still have the same local coaches and players on the team roster that couldn't & didn't win anything in little ole Oregon? Seems odd.

Parents will always fall for organizations/leagues like this, based on false unrealistic promises, they dangle a carrot that the families will never even nibble at, what's up DOC.

Sorry your DD got cut, again, before tryouts are even over. Maybe next year she can play for a division 4 Timbers team.

Yes, I am totally against my kids learning from coaches that have committed themselves to soccer as a profession. That's why I send my kids to be home schooled by the lady down the street who does dog grooming and teaches on the side.

Stay with your rec team in Div 3.

Only reason I brought up the original question is that the information available online is minimal on GPS. One person suggested calling, but I feel that there should be some basic information available online without having to call. Otherwise, it makes me feel like a car advertisement without a price forcing you to call. Clubs typically have information about coaches, cost, what the costs include/exclude, etc. During the season of tryouts, it is nice to be able to do due diligence as a parent to be able to decide where to tryout and this starts with information available online.

Used car salesman is accurate in this case.

Lack of info must mean it's super exclusive. There's no costs listed, because if you have to ask ... you can't afford it. Sometimes you get what you pay for ... sometimes you pay what you get for. I heard a rumor that Pep was going to move to Hillsboro to coach U12
