they charge the same or less than similar clubs in PDX Metro. So everyone is overcharging?

Perfect! Now if only we can only get OYSA to the point where they have fields grant program to help clubs with the needed investment.

        Amortizing everything.

this does not include Sponsors and Silent money that is constantly coming in.

nah, they must manage their money well.

I heard that there receiving a $4.2 million dollar donation from a well known old school soccer player that will be used to build a clubhouse with amenities for parents and players.

They charge more than FCP or THUSC, and that's a fact.

You hear a lot of crazy stories in the crack houses of east Vancouver. Don't believe what you hear.

Does that mean 6.5' x 18.5' goals (as opposed to full-size 8' x 24') will be the ONLY goal size allowed for 9v9, with full-size goals disallowed? Current OYSA regs discourage but permit full-size goals; no "exception" is needed for full-sized goals to be used: From the 2016 State Cup Rules:

[Note: The goal size for 9v9 (6.5' x 18.5') is highly recommended, but is not mandatory. The reduced field size for 9v9 matches is mandatory. Where the facility owner does not permit paint or other semi-permanent
markings, field lines may be temporarily marked using disc cones. The field inventory provided to the game scheduler should clearly identify field and goal dimensions. To the extent possible, 9v9 matches will be scheduled on appropriately sized fields where appropriately sized goals are available.]

It would be a definite improvement--assuming there are enough 9v9 fields to go around in spring. A common place to put 9x9 fields is in the outfields of baseball diamonds, where 2 or three such fields will fit, but this time of year those fields get used for baseball.

you need to find a Grant Writer. We have two in our club that have been working on it for over a year and it's a huge help.

you need to do it yourself. It doesn't happen overnight. Our club has seriously been working on our facilities projects for 14 years and we just built our fields last year. Keep in mind it is neverending

                    they charge more than $1,850?

that's what I pay at FCPDX and it's a good deal.

our club has been working towards this change for the past 6 years. We have slowly accumulated enough of the 9v9 goals to build 17 9v9 fields. But then again, we've been pushing these small sided initiatives for years.

How did you pay $1850 at FCP when the cost is $1595 for everything but ECNL, which is $2300?

A lot of clubs charge around $1500. Some give you better coaching and some give you more hours of training for that $1500. A lot of clubs will have no training at all for most of Nov-Jan and only 1-2 practices per week while some will have 2-3 per week all year round. Pays to find out what kind of value you're getting for that $1500.

We are working on that - maybe the WA_Timbers' guy is interested in freelancing (with the WA_Timbers' permission of course). :)

Too bad nobody will give you the $1M required to fix that parking lot. Lots of kids getting concussions just getting to the fields.

What ever happened to Eastside's plan to put a facility in on the Eastside of Powel Butte? I have not seen anything about that in a while. I remember that maybe last year they had a master plan available.
