Having a local group of clubs play themselves in a so called USDA sanctioned mini league for 10 & 11 year old boys the PDX area is not the same as being a member club of the USDA at u16 & u18. If this were the case, all these same clubs would have teams at u16 & u18 they don't and never will.

Yes, some local clubs have formed a league under the sanctioning of the USDA & US Soccer. Also the Timbers have elected NOT to be part of this league and stay with just their u14, u16 & u18 Teams.

You are really stretching on this subject...believe whatever makes you think these clubs are USDA clubs with just one team of 10 & 11 year old boys playing other local clubs..

Kind of like calling LOSC & FC Portland Girls ECNL worthy teams.

    LOL

Not paying women to play in NWSL is a feature of the entire league structure, not the Thorns decision, if the truth be told US Soccer pays the salaries of any of the outstanding US women in the NWSL, per league structure.

Being in control of all youth soccer from high above is the aim and directive of the Peregrine LLC (Timbers/Thorns). Guess what they are almost there.

      Enjoying, we all are.
I'm not very smart - I don't understand what you are saying other than Timbers are trying to take over everything.

Think the guys drinking a beer in the bar and telling them to **** off are more interesting than their badge wearing enforcers.

Nothing so-called about it - USDA set-up the application process, decides who plays in it, sets the rules, and administers.

Don't know what this has to do with ECNL.

With all that said, all of the local clubs in this one-off u12 boys league have how many of their clubs teams in the USDA U16 & U18 National League?

Bottom line the Portland Timbers Academy are the only group from Oregon playing in this league http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standings/league/.

Having local Oregon clubs in the U12 boys league under the USDA sanctioning is not to be confused with an actual ACADEMY club/team that plays u16 or u18.

When your club has two teams in the u16 or u18 league I will be the first to coin you an ACADEMY club, until then spin away.

Nothing. Except ECNL is a known entity for a decade now and there's no money for a girls DA.

              Connecting the dots..

Local clubs like, BSC, Crossfire, FC PDX, Salem Timbers all agree to play each other in the USDA sanctioned u12 boys oregon league this coming year---extrapolate this to mean they are USDA Academy program clubs, they are obviously not Academy clubs that field teams in the National wide program for the best u16 & u18 players in the country.

Local clubs LOSC, FC Portland & THUSC have u14 to u18 girls club teams assigned to the mountain division of Northwest league of the ECNL and extrapolate this league choice as meaning they are an 'ECNL club', the fact is they are all USYS/USCS clubs that have chosen to play in this league (ECNL). Just like they choose the OYSA Timbers/Thorns League or the Far West Regional league for teams in the club. Choosing to have a few teams play in a league doesn't magically make that club a 'FWRL club,' it's just a choice of where they want to play, nothing more--nothing less.

ECNL is short for Elite Clubs National League. It's a league in which the best clubs in the nation place their top teams. Sure there are some individual teams out there that are better than some of the teams in ECNL, but not many. And there are even fewer clubs outside of ECNL that can be considered "elite", and none of those "elite outsiders" are in Oregon, including Thorns Academy.

Thank you for clarifying it's just another league option for girls teams, just like the USYS National League, Far West Regional League or the OYSA Timbers/Thorns league. Every League is different in it's composition of course. Some leagues like the ECNL have teams from all over the country, with some teams in this league, really good and other teams that are not really good but are needed to fill up obscure geographic regions to minimize travel.

Contrasted to the USYS National League who will only take a small elite group of the best 12 to 16 teams in the entire country. Or the OYSA league that registers all the teams from Oregon breaks them into levels of play from top to bottom, In reading about the ECNLeague they do no break up the hundreds of league teams into divisions based on a level of play, as it would be crazy for the bottom ten teams in this league to travel from Oregon to Mississippi, Michigan and New Mexico just play at the appropriate level.

They are of course top notch clubs and teams that elect not to join the ECNL due to budget and travel concerns, they are still elite teams & clubs they choose to go to Top flight tournaments and compete for USCS or USYS National Cup titles and forgo the ECNLeague option.

It all boils down to choice. Understood.

USYS National League is expanding to 32 teams per age group. And even the best in that league are inferior to most ECNL teams. Fact.

80%+ of all D1 college players and USWNT players come from the ECNL. Fact.

Outside of the ECNL clubs, there are NO good girls soccer clubs in Oregon. Fact.

I don't give 2 sh*ts about your facts or your childish, assumptive name calling.

There is no such thing as an ECNL club in Oregon and yes you hit the nail on the head there are no girl good clubs in Oregon.

Any more profundity you want to bring to this Captain Obvious.

There are two clubs in Oregon that are members of the ECNL. Maybe you haven't noticed, what with your DD playing in OYSA 4th division on her Timbers "A" team.
