I get it, your DD plays ECNL and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Others who have been around the block find it woefully inadequate.

ODP at the region and national level are so far superior to anything that the state of Oregon can offer in an ECNL team, tournament or otherwise that it isn't even funny. The Oregon state teams were superior to ECNL... simply because they did not have to have two teams.

OPL paid for the league and kept the rest for themselves. We are affiliated with a once OPL team however I felt it was somewhat inadequate when they split.

Maybe 90% of the talent in Oregon plays there but unfortunately, they get to play with another 200% who shouldn't play at that level. It brings down the level of play and it makes for a system that has NO path for the highest level. I think the DA may be able to remedy some of this. Not over night of course but something needs to and will change.

ECNL is preparing for becoming 2nd tier. They see the writing on the wall.
Big market clubs are already preparing for shift.

I think the point eludes you. My child plays ECNL so the 90% of good players which only amounts to 10-12 spread across 2 teams isn't cutting it.
