ECNL becomes 2nd tier next year. That's okay. Like an advanced recreational league that includes travel.
Not so fast. It will get there eventually, but it won't be a lightening fast move. GDA has to convince girls and their families the move is worth it. That means planting the azzes of college coaches in the stands. And those coaches won't come if the talent isn't there. Many girls are in the recruiting process already (or about to be) and won't move because of the uncertainty. Girls already recruited won't move, leave their friends, give up HS for one more year of questionable soccer in an uncertain league.

This is going to take time.
It didn't take much time for Portland ECNL to become second tier. It actually arrived that way.
