I feel sorry for the parents of one kid on our team. They only have the one child and they totally live through this kid. Especially the dad. He's already been complaining that his kid is falling back and he is blaming the coach for it. However, what he doesn't realize is that his kid really is just not advancing much anymore and the other kids are catching up. And their kid now has to move up and will soon be one of the youngest. I hate to tell them that if they were worried about their kid falling back before, now it's going to be really bad. Their kid, I'm afraid, is going to be sitting a lot more next year than they ever have, and I can see mom and dad going nuts.

You clearly don't get it.
People aren't happy and your little man comments aren't going to change anyone's mind. Take your little man whining outside. Nobody wants to listen.
The long term effect on the sport is more concerning to me. It will hurt enrollment in the long run.
There will be more grade level mixes. Less classmates playing soccer together, statistically. This will cost us some talented kids to volleyball and basketball as girls want to play with their school friends. At the younger ages. The youngers eventually become older.
Why break up teams mid stream?
Anyone who doesn't question the logic of moves like this are far too passive.
US Soccer admitted in their Q & A there is no benefits for girls other than they get a chance to make new friends.

My DD can do 25 juggles now, Wahooooo!
