Oregon ECNL results to date

Just look at the Oregon ECNL results over the past two years for proof of this. .200 winning percentages, -50 GDs, ... that's what teams get from ECNL coaching. The results are as bad as everyone said they would be. Maybe worse.

So the alternative is to settle playing local teams only and winning ribbons? No thanks. IMHO, in order to develop, you have to see the best and play against the best. Oregon ECNL is in its second year. I don't think anyone had delusions that Oregon teams would come out of the gate and dominate.

Competing against the best will be a process. We can whine all day and night about early results, but again IMHO, that's missing the point. It's about wanting to compete at the highest levels. As I've said before, if ECNL is for you, give it a shot. If it's not for you and doesn't affect you personally, that's great too, but just dispense with all the whining about it.

No, for the extra in fees that parents are paying, they should be upgrading the coaching. Get better coaches, get better development, get better results. Voila. I like a few of the FC coaches. I like one CU coach. The rest are easily upgradeable.

That's about what ECNL teams are going to put into Pac 12 schools in an average year. Even the great "ONYX" didn't put much more than that in and I thought that team was "the greatest team from Oregon ever". At least that's what their parents proclaim. So ECNL teams are going to put in 1-2, maybe 3, in a year, TA teams the same. Nothing personal, just pointing out the flaws in your statement.

I am sure I will be accused of beating my chest and slobbering all over myself, and probably yelling and being a total crazy person for dare responding to a negative Onyx comment, I am obviously drinking Tom's koolaid and totally obsessed with my children. All that being said, Onyx has 4 committed to the PAC12.

So that pretty much fits what I said in terms of Pac 12 commits. The poster proclaimed that maybe two a year from TA clubs go to Pac 12. And the average ECNL team will put about 2 a year in. I knew Onyx had put in a few more than that, but it's not like their starting 11 all went to P5 schools. Now some ECNL teams do send a boatload to P5 schools, but Portland teams won't do that. At the U16, there are three from FCP, but only two who really earned it, the other is due to a favor by the AD. CU probably won't have any. And at the current U15 teams I doubt CU puts in any, and in fact, that team is so weak that without stronger players joining from other clubs, might only put a couple into lower D1. FCP may have one or two Pac 12 and then a few more in lower D1. So in summary, the TA clubs will probably have about as many, if not one or two more Pac 12 commits than the local ECNL teams.

What are "lower D1" in your expert opinion? Santa Clara? Pepperdine? Seattle? U of Montana? Just trying to get a feel for where your cutoff is

It is actually 11, from the U17 ECNL team, 10 from 2017, and one 2016. There are three more 2017 commits that play on the reserves and/or the U18 ECNL. I don't know how close or not close people are, but there will be more before NLI next February.

I would love to know all of these schools that TA is sending their kids to. The 2017s should be at least 75-85% done by know so share the laundry list of the 2017s since you proclaim ECNL Oregon and TA clubs will have similar commits
