I'm so glad we have people like you so invested in my wellbeing. I'm glad you're looking out for me and my family. Thanks!

    Go Thorns Academy!!

Look at that... The TA frauds are out today. I'm glad someone is watching out for how other people spend their money.

Have fun sitting on the sidelines. We know.... you're used to it ;).

Nobody mad here except the stupid Timbers cavemen lemmings. And there is no doubt there are way too many of them in this state.

What I do not understand is this. If you aren't being asked to write the check for someone else's child to play ECNL, why do you care?

                    Summary of results from Phoenix:

U15 CU - congratulations, you managed a tie. Of course against a team that has a -64 GD. Lost the other two games. 0-2-1. -3 GD

U16 CU - Lost opener 5-0 to the last place team in the Texas conference who has a 2-7-3 record and -16 GD. Lost the next two as well, but at least those teams aren't in last place in their conference, but far from first. 0-3-0, -7 GD.

U17 CU - Oh, the might Onyx managed a nil nil draw to the second place team in the SE conference. But lost the other two games including one to a last place team with a -40 GD and a 0-11-2 record. Fatigue and indifference appear to be catching up with this team. Come U18 and will probably be scouring teams to secure enough players to even play.

U15 FC - smart enough to stay away from this tournament. Best and smartest youth coach in PDX.

U16 FC - Lost all 3 including a 4-0 drubbing to a mid pack team. Saved face losing 1-0 in final game, but to a team in next to last place in their league. 0-3-0, -7GD

U17 FC - started out with a 9-1 smack down to the 5th place team from Texas. Good thing didn't play the top team I guess. Rest of weekend didn't go well, but showed improvement eventually losing 3-2 to 6th place team from California. 0-3-0, -12 GD

Maybe the coaches and clubs should rethink going to this next year and instead, play a couple of league games first and get a few practices in. Unless being uncompetitive is the goal.

                        Ummmm

Anyone think that the teams performed so poorly due to the fact I know several girls on several teams didn't go to the phx ecnl event due to all playing HS and in state cup. The Washington HS just finished the quarter finals of there play and oregon just finished there state tournament this last weekend. A lot of the girls have really not even practiced with there teams except maybe once a week at a pickup practice that's not maditory. The phx showcase is really at a bad time for states that have girls playing HS in the fall. I'm sure the results will be different when all the players get back to there club teams on a regular basis.

Ouch, looks like some tough results. However, I am going to give oregon ecnl the benefit of the doubt, since none of the teams have played a game together in at least 4-5 months, have really only had 1 practice a week this fall at best and each were missing multiple players to various 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A state finals. So I'd say they are a bit rusty and short handed. Plus most of the teams that they were facing have already started their league and are several games into their season, I'd say that's a huge advantage.

All that said and looking at the results, I'd say this showcase was a bit ambitious to attend and the $ spent could have been better used for another event when teams and players were a bit more prepared to play. Seems like an expensive prep weekend for next weekend's darby day.

This was simply a showcase for the players to be seen by west coast college coaches. Too bad a lot of player were not able to attend due to various HS state cups. Showcases are for being seen, that is all.

It's not good to be seen getting your clocks cleaned. That's not the impression you want to leave. However, justify it anyway you wish.

Actually many of them have been practicing at least one day a week. I mean, there isn't a big difference between this and ODP except in this, they girls have been playing with their HS teams whereas when they had ODP, they were playing with their club teams. ODP teams rarely had any tune up games before they went to their regional tournaments and had just a few weekends of practice together.
