What is wrong with people on Talking Soccer? I can only write it off to jealousy.

I don't think it is an accurate reflection of opinion. There are people "trolls" that want to incite others to write nasty things about one another. It is how they get their jollys.

Judging from commentary by PAC 12 announcers she is definitely PAC 12 material.

It is also important to note that there are a lot of kids from all the states that do not play until their sophomore or junior years, so those are not failures, that is the PAC12. If they do play at all their freshman year, that is a great accomplishment!
I know people are clamoring for more ca recruits but do you actually think a so cal girl who is used to 70-80 deflates year round will enjoy oregon's gloomy weather? Mertz has focused her attention on so cal but I believe she needs to focus on getting the best recruits form the northwest and northern parts of the us. She needs to take a page out of football recruiting and make sure she gets the top recruits in her own backyard rather than extend to so cal first.
Parents ask around and we have already heard negative things about mertz.

These kids have five years to play four. If this is their dream and the coaches and stars don't align then they should move on. This isn't a Oregon girl issue rather it is a college sports issue. The exact same thing happens to Southern California girls too, even Southern California girls attending Oregon. I wish these kids all the best!!

I found it unusual the Oregon staff was watching one of their 2018 recruits from the Real So Cal game when they should have been trying to uncover diamonds and late bloomers in the 2016 class to help save their jobs!!!! No worries they will all be fired at the end of next season after Oregon posts a losing record again. The disgruntled parent that is bogging false information will eventually get her wish.

I don't think that you can tell who has put in his or her notice by looking at them in a group work situation and seeing if they are 'happy'. Christy will leave this month. Mertz WILL get fired but sadly too late for the players that are currently dealing with her poor coaching.
Have you watched any Oregon games? They never got plummeted. In fact they did quite well until they were too tired to run. Mertz won't use ammunition from her relatively deep bench. She has a few 'go to' players and prefers to lean on then until they can barely move. Meanwhile she has very good players just sitting and very unhappy. This creates turnover which in turn destroys any continuity. Top that off with her coaching philosophy of separating your favorites (starters or 'go to' players) from the rest and practice them independent of one another. In doing this you can rest assured that when you drop a sub into a game it will be very akin to dropping a random player onto a team that they don't normally play with. Then act surprised when they don't anticipate. Hell half the team doesn't know the other half.
Unbelievable and bad
