If tryouts happen after State Cup and Regionals and Nationals happen after tryouts, will calendar year teams still play together for these?

How do rosters work with birth year change for Regionals and Nationals?

This isn't hard. The only change is the August cutoff. Nothing else. Oh yea.... The world isn't ending either.

It has always been, and will continue to be, awkward for the teams that qualify for Regionals or Nationals but have tryouts in May, when those particular teams aren't really done with their season yet. In years past, folks have suggested tryouts should come after the team has finished Regional and Nationals.

Hypothetically speaking, if there is a lot of player movement to new clubs don't you have to have a minimum # of players that won State??

Rules haven't changed. Roster that plays state cup plays Regionals and Nationals. That roster has to show a large amount of consistency with the roster that played in the qualifying league (fall/winter/spring). Age group changes shouldn't affect that as kids should still be in the same club, even if on different teams after tryouts. Even if someone changes clubs, as long as they don't register with the new club right away (and hence ask for their release from the old club), the current registration is good until August 1st.

No one is changing to birth year. Has your club told you all about it? Don't you think your club might have mentioned something about birth year if this was really happening?
