The Aug-Dec kids on our current u14 team are all going to have a seriously tough time cracking onto the roster, much less the starting lineup!, of our current top ranked u15 team (many current starters are Jan-July on the older team). Some will hang on, a few will be successful, but more will quit looking down the road as a bench or B player from here on out after always being an A team player with a ton of minutes up till now. Plus, they will have been booted off their team. Suddenly, soccer won't be nearly as much fun or worth it anymore. Our particular team is mostly 2001s but only one or two can compete well on a 2001 birth A team. Realistically, I see 5-10 of the rest quitting club soccer within another year. Of course, 75% quit soccer anyway so maybe it will be a wash with the Jan-July kids who will now become impact players and won't quit now. Perhaps we're just switching who quits. But switching mid-stream will cause a few more to quit I think.

Jurgen Klinsman earns a paltry $3,000,000 per year. We can and should do better. Let do this people!
Time to get priorities straight.

As long as you explain this will benefit the US Mens National team, most families will be just fine with the fee hike.
This is an important change and the effect of breaking up teams and causing some kids to quit is nothing compared to the value we get for the men's national team.
Smart clubs will proactively raise fees now and not wait.

If a girls is playing soccer because of her friendships or starts soccer at 7 years old because she wants to play with school friends then that is a poor reflection on parenting skills. They should want to be better players for the love of the game and what they can contribute to the bigger picture - namely cash upstream to US Soccer.
Girls should be willing to drop their friends on a moments notice and go find new ones. That's what mature, well adjusted kids do.
I am so sick of hearing about kids wanting to play with friends. Go join girl scouts or have a tea party.

Bend, NEU & FCP have all sent out birth year notifications already. Any other clubs communicating?
The birth year train has left the station.
