Any and all of the bigger ones.

Some of the smaller clubs may cater to the parents initially, but they to will make the switch.

you had stated "our club", so my question was specifically which club that was. I assume all the clubs will follow suit, but I was inquiring as to which club you were speaking for.

One of the smaller TA clubs. Wanted to keep some of our better teams together but just won't work out. DoC decided best to go the way of Bend and not delay the inevitable. There may also be pressure for all TA clubs to follow the mandate because they are supposed to have a cohesive coaching philosophy and be an organized pathway to the pros.

Whoever doesn't switch this year will switch next year so might as well be out the gate with the front runners.

Nobody has the time to argue or protest. People are busy thankfully so there won't be a lot of protest.

The problem to deal with is the projected 20% decline in the census on the girls side over a two year period. Progressive clubs will start looking at their budget now and raising fees to cover the lost revenue. All fees at the higher level are set to increase.

The clubs/state associations wanted grandfathering at a minimum on the girls side.

Does anyone know how much of our player card fees go to US Soccer?

US Soccer doesn't care about you or your kids, unless they are the 1% cream, which is rare from around here. So stop complaining.

You should support this change or leave. We are part of something bigger, namely the USMNT.

I think most families are willing to pay more for soccer if this change will support US Soccer and their quest to improve the Men's National Team.

maybe I missed something earlier in the thread, or maybe the "new math" is even more difficult than I thought. from where I sit, your argument doesn't make any sense.

you take X number of kids and divide them up, using whatever criteria you choose. you wind up with 2 groups of kids. now put them all back together and divide them up again, using a different criteria. unless your criteria has gaps that excludes part of the group, you STILL have X number of kids.

Except that some number of kids will quit instead of playing on a new team. And some clubs won't have the right mix of ages to even form teams at some age groups so those players left without a team will either change clubs or quit. The estimate is that there will be about 10% greater attrition than normal (there are always lots of quitters every year)

You say, "the estimate is". WHOSE estimate?
And "some clubs won't have the right mix of ages to form teams", HUH? are you saying that there are years in which people don't have babies that grow up to be soccer players?
I still think your argument is flawed.
The increase in attrition might occur on a team here or a team there, but the total number of players will remain essentially unchanged. Again, it doesn't matter how you slice the pie, you still have a pie.

Ask someone in administration girls soccer for a long time. Even at high levels, many girls play soccer and stick with soccer for relationships Start shaking up teams, and move some kids away from their school mates and you will see many kids leaving the sport who would have stayed in the old system.

most club level, competitive players aren't playing primarily with girls they go to school with. There may be a handful of girls, but at least in our experience, the higher level teams are made up of a group of girls from all over.

are YOU in administration of girls soccer? or are you just spreading the negative vibe on their behalf?

I would have to agree with this statement. The example I know of is the Eastside Aston Villa/Milan ('00) team. The roster of 14 girls are now attending 8 different high schools. They are friends, but they didn't play together just for their friendships. Many of them gravitated to Eastside primarily because of the success of the team - leaving their school mates and friends behind at previous clubs.
