    Knew it all along

This whole kerfuffle about turf in the WWC was just the USWNT setting up their excuses early. Now they admit it. They can lose and "it's not their fault".

Turf or not, they don't look good.

You're right. They don't look good. The other team is also playing on turf. If you're the best in the US, you should be able to score on either surface. Ridiculous.

And it's not like they didn't have a couple years warning. They knew what they were getting into and the other teams knew it. They can use whatever excuse they want, but they need to get their proverbial sh$t together or they will be boarding the bus sooner then later. That random long ball stuff is going to pay the rent.

The MLS plays on turf. Don't these women regularly play on turf? Why would you want an unfamiliar surface in the WC?

Seriously? Quite a few players from other national teams play MLS. Quit with excuses. I shut my 12 year old down when she talks surface. You all play the game on the same surface. It's a weak excuse at best.

Playing on artificial grass/turf exposes you technical abilities. Hence the lack of technical ability by US players is being exposed, therefore the excuse about surface. Our national team is a product of our system, which does not focus on technical part of the game. we have long relied on our superior fitness and physical ability, but if you can't keep the ball, it doesn't matter. Just shut up and play and stop the excuses.

Or, playing on grass/turf exposes the fact that you are or almost 40 years old and can't keep up at that level for the same lengths of time that you could as a younger.

                    Turf Sucks.

Turf sucks. It is only useful in the Northwest where the cost of maintaining good grass surface with proper drainage is expensive.

                          remember when

Remember last year, when a few of us said, "geez, the rest of the world is really catching up with USA," and almost all of y'all said "what the h_ll are you talking about idiots, liberals, freeloaders, blah, blah, blah, you've never even heard of soccer before -we're the USA. NO THEY'RE NOT."

that was great. now, most of you have flipped to the other side.

this was actually quite a while before we mentioned that there was not enough talent for two "elite" teams in Oregon, nevermind three. it wouldn't surprise me if you didn't remember. anyway. have a great weekend, can't wait for the next USWNT match.

You learned to play on the green painted parking lot at Gresham HS that Eastside calls "turf"?
