True, I see more Latinos at the younger ages and then the numbers drop off as they get older. Not sure why that is but it happens.

The majority of the elite HS Soccer players play on the Timbers Development Academy at U18 team, that's why you didn't see them. Since they play year round in a professional Soccer club they are not allowed to turn out for HS American Football or any HS Sport for that matter. There are over 180 HS Varsity teams in Oregon field soccer teams and yes all of those teams are dominated by "latinos". Unlike you I've yet to see the HS team called 'Latinos' that's dominating all comers. Where is the 'Latinos' team located?

Look at the original post. Person did not say high school games, but high school age which is probably referencing club. Most High School soccer players are rec level and it is a different game. There are players on my son's B team that are high school all conference players. We all know that the majority of these selection are political anyways that is why you would not see a whole lot of defenders selected.

5A Soccer a division that fields only 32 teams. Those are two teams from that classification.

When they both were in the big school classification for 20+ years they didn't win a single championship.

Wouldn't call them dominate amongst all HS teams pre & post DA. But they are Relevant at 5A, but so is Summit HS(5A) a nearly all white team from Bend.

Most players are more or less rec level. Most club players play high school soccer. The DA has many, but not all the top players and a lot of players who are indistinguishable from other competitive players.

Woodburn is really the only HS team that is primarily Latino and wins. CC and JU have very few Latino players.

It they would stop dropping out in 8th grade, we'd have more. We need to lower the pay we give yard care workers to incent them to remain in school.

Probably something about effort and having to work at it.

That is why the Timber's Academy is over half Hispanic and the top players (Adrian and Rubio) from Oregon are also Hispanic. Or how about the Crossfire Oregon player in Id2 on the boy's side.

I think you may be confusing hard work with entitlement.

Really?…The only reason you ever see a post like this is the anonymity of this site. Someone must have hit you in the head to hard when you are little, because your brain obviously doesn't function…

Assuming you are knucklehead homophobe now you're going to add racism to the mix as well?

Please don't pick on the knucklehead racist homophobe. We should all be thankful that his KKK website is up and running again and that he is busy posting there....

If they are such great soccer players, then why can't they be better drivers?

It's 5A Soccer which is really like asking us to compare a JV team versus Varsity team. (5A vs 6A)

Bottom line in a 6 class system in a tiny state like Oregon guess what an all Hispanic/school team may be relevant in smaller classifications where other Schools with these tiny enrollments below 1000 kids or less are the norm.

Guess what most small schools can't draw from the student body to and have 400+ Hispanic boys who love to play the (non american) sport of Soccer. Curious what are the American Football teams like at those schools?

At the 6A level the big dogs in Soccer are also championship contenders in American Football.

It's called balance and superior enrollment/coaching/talent.

At least with so many ridiculous levels of competition they tiny schools get a medal and claims they are the best team among a whopping 32 teams. Epic.
