Why? None of them are on this board anyway.

This is full of overweight white women living their lives through their athletic little girls. Maybe there are a few redneck men on here too, based on the amount of mental retardation exhibited in all of the "ballet" posts.

The irony of this post is amazing, and I doubt the poster even realizes it.

And hey dummy, how do you reconcile this:

"MLS has experienced enormous growth in its second decade, doubling the number of teams to 20, expanding to six states and three Canadian provinces and moving into 11 new soccer-specific stadiums. Last season, average attendance topped 19,000 for the first time.

The financial growth has been more dramatic. When Chivas USA joined the league in 2004, it paid a $10-million franchise fee. When the team was disbanded last fall, MLS sold the abandoned rights to a second Southern California team for $110 million."

The league's new TV deal, signed last spring, is nearly five times richer than the old one, while Forbes Mexico ranks three MLS clubs — the New York Red Bulls, Sporting Kansas City and the Galaxy — among the nine most valuable soccer teams in the Americas."

The growth of soccer in USA is big... and getting bigger. I will grant you, it is truly in it's infancy and just scratching the surface.

But I will quote facts. You quote out your as$ some more. BTW, your Hispanic comment is not only racist it is another load of crap that you pulled out of your *****.
Here is the roster for the U16 team:

You are quoting Forbes Mexico? Getting a little desperate? Being gay is not a big deal and you should support your son.

WTH? That's a link to the boys roster for the academy. T/S is only about girls soccer.

Your point? Article says nothing noteworthy. Please re-read my post and let us know when you understand the content. Have your wife read it to you if necessary. Otherwise, your incompetence has become boring. Time for me to move on to someone smarter.

My theory is only dads who are secure in themselves and their masculinity and who aren't living through their sons 'allow' them to play soccer (or whatever sport they want to play). The dads who are living through their sons only allow them to play the sports they believe to be manly and which they played: i.e. Football, baseball and basketball. So the crazy/insecure dads do not have sons playing soccer BUT they do have their daughters playing soccer and are living through them. Of course I think the crazies are just the loud 10-20%; there are plenty of normal girl parents out there who we just don't hear from much on here.

My husband played collegiate football but he would never post on here, doesn't live through them and lets our sons play whatever they want which happens to be soccer and basketball. And believe me, there have been lots of dads who give him a hard time for not making our sons play football and try to convInce him to get them playing (as they would be quite good..at least at the high school level.)

                  Just my $.02

Most American parents play & watch the sports they grew up playing with their children, especially dads with their sons. Hence, a higher percentage of American Latinos play soccer. The earlier poster pointed out the Timbers DA roster, which is very high percentage of Latino names. Soccer is growing in popularity but the majority of good male athletes in the U.S. still choose the traditional powerhouse sports. If all the players on MLS teams start making a ton more money, soccer will likely become more popular here too but the low salaries & low fame-factor for the majority of players will keep most elite boy athletes away for awhile. Girls? No one really cares about female athletes, soccer or otherwise, except their parents. Maybe that's why the girls' parents feel they need to be especially crazy & dominate TS. Girls soccer may also take a hit soon when people find out the concussion rates for girls soccer is incredibly high.

According to USYS statistics in 2014 3,055,148 players registered through them to play soccer. With other competition like AYSO,USClub etc this total number is obviously higher.

Of those registered the gender breakdown was 52% boys (1,588,677) while 48% were girls (1,466,471)

                            I don't care about girl's soccer.

I would MAYBE care more about women's soccer if, like Sepp Blatter recommends, they wear tighter shorts.

Please re-read my post. I said high school age. The number of boys playing high school football is over 1 million while soccer is 410K. Baseball and basketball are both higher than soccer. I am sure more would play basketball, but on 12 are on a team.

Most of the real male athletes are not doing soccer. They do soccer if they can't handle football or not good enough to play basketball.
