As pointed out, based on posting habits, these trolls are coaches. They have a reason to attack the ECNL. Look at half of them. Parents reffing games, exaggerated costs, terrible competition, personal attacks on coaches and the list goes on. Now you can say those are viewpoint, but the reality is that they are veiled attacks anonymously by people who aren't involved. They have personal issues they are airing anonymously on talking soccer. That shows a lack of maturity and character.

"Having just one team from Oregon, with our best girls and best coaches apply to play in the ECNL is a better approach than the current method"
Yes, because?? No, because??
"We have a stable of coaches who have experience coaching youth at regional and national levels of competition, and they have a track record of developing players at this level"
Yes, and list what they have done. No...not quite there yet.
Simple stuff worth talking about or not?
Vs. a conspiracy theory of disgruntled local coaches trolling the internet to attack me an my ilk.
You decide.

It isn't coaches trolling and there is likely only one. This is what trolls do. I do not believe for a minute that most parents give two cents about things their own children are not participating in.

I think the challenge is that folks want to have more than one choice. Our experience was our dd was with a club and she just didn't jell with the system at that club, the style of play and coach. Nothing against the former club and we never bad mouth it but she just felt more comfortable with the system, coaches and players from the other club. She ended up thriving at the current club and was put on the traveling A team where she was spotted by college coaches and signed D1 for next year. Don't know if that would have happened if she would have stayed at the other club in the pool.
I have observed this season that FC Portland and CU (coaches and parents) want each other to be successful to grow the game here.

This anti-ECNL crusade some coach or a few coaches are on in based on jealousy. The thing with ECNL is that only FC Portland and CU are in it. No one else can compete. Clubs like WST are now really paying the price for neglecting their girls programs so their response is to share inaccurate information to their families and make petty anonymous attacks on talking soccer. That's WSTs MO.
This isn't a parent posting these ECNL trolls. This is a coach or a couple coaches with a reason and history of doing so.

It is pathetic but it's their MO.

Odd that you don't mention that little fact in your diatribes. And while you are pounding your chest about ECNL, you really aren't looking at your results are you? For CU anyway. Last weekend was a disaster. And when you play decent teams, things don't work out very well. And review the scores. There have been more than a few 4-0, 5-0 and worse scores. I seem to recall a 10-0 score for one of the CU teams. Just as was predicted, the good ECNL teams would pound you senseless.
ECNL is also a great opportunity. It's expensive as discussed ad nasium because of the travel. It will get better as everyone involved adjusts. Nova is doing better this year than they did last year. It isn't the disaster the naysayers want people to believe either.
The constant attacks is old. There is too much misinformation and downright lies. Everyone knows WST openly bashes it to their families and provides them inaccurate information. Everyone also knows WST goes on these attacks during tryouts every year.
For you people it's either the competition is lousy if we win or Oregon ECNL is lousy because they lose. The coaching is lousy. Let's not forget how much the ECNL makes. Moms and dads are reffing games and Oregon joining the ECNL made it snow in Texas.
The trolling on these forums is out of control. It's just a few coaches and clubs like WST.

The problem with Oregon soccer are attack dogs like you who want to hold back soccer to your clubs level which is status quo. Both the Thorns and ECNL are positive changes for girls soccer. It moves the bar which winds status quo people into knots like WST and the ilk. This is why a few coaches like yourself spend so much time on talking soccer attacking what you don't have.
