So I'm blessed and I'm done. She was seen at Surf Cup. ECNL got her more than half of the way there. I'd tell you more but there's way too many trolls on this site to give out personal info.
So yeah, I could have paid triple whatever I paid for ECNL and I'd still be in the black. Maybe talk to people who have actually had their kids recruited by d1 schools or talk to the top 50 d1 coaches and ask them how ECNL fits in their recruiting plans?
Do you enjoy being jealous and misinformed? I'm kind of done with you. Trying to help people but on this thread it may be a lost cause. Go back to hating and enjoy the obscurity and 200 dollar scholarship in d3.

Day 2. A couple of wins and a lot of losses. Looks like CU 16 isn't the great team their parents make them out to be.

My perspective on the ECNL event.
Very well organized, all of our games started on time and I thought the officials were very experienced. There seemed to be a very positive vibe at the event and I saw coaches from all over the country. As my dd's team is in last place in our conference I was a little puzzled that we had to play the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place team in the SW conference. Those teams have a goal differential of +30, +26 and +6. The speed of play was just something I have never seen playing in Oregon. These teams had incredible athletes. We were proud of our dd and team this weekend. They stuck with the 2nd place team the whole game for a 1-0 loss and almost had the equalizer in the last 15 minutes. Other two games they got smoked. These girls stayed composed the whole weekend and overall I thought it was a positive experience for them.

Speed of play is something that I've often see be the differentiation between teams in Oregon and elsewhere. I think it comes with the higher levels of competition teaching kids to make quicker decisions and execute better.
Even between 1st and 2nd division teams in Oregon there's a big difference and speed of play a key to good results.

That's why coaches need to pick up their game and get players to practice at a much higher level. You can't practice at a slow speed and then go and play teams that play fast. Playing hard defense where you are constantly on top of players is tiring, that's why so few players like to do it unless they are forced to.

And to speak to "low ranked teams" there were dozens of coaches at all three games, about 50% top tier programs, and 50% lower DI and other divisions. And there were 20 plus that were at two or more games. I have never seen anything like it.

In fact, I posted it because I knew it would be an eye opener for the Oregon teams. It's easy to play when the defense gives you time to receive the ball, look up, take a touch and decide what to do. It's quite a bit more difficult when the moment you receive the ball a defender is on top of you and every miss touch ends up in a turnover or a 50/50 ball that has you fighting like crazy to win. When playing the top ECNL teams, that is what you get. When playing teams in fifth, sixth, or lower place, you don't get that.
