Now that someone brought up the website.

Why is there nothing about the 3 B99's teams that are traveling to Seattle for their respective state cup competition semifinals.

The boys have done well but nothing on the website, we see stuff there from girls teams that are dated back to last summer.

Just making a point its seems like there in not interest in high school boys soccer. Like one of the other poster said they are the past regimes product not this one.

WashT is just generally inept at all things. Not communicating with their members via the website is just one of their many fatal flaws.

Well, before the old GM that got let go. The website was WAY, WAY worse.....but they decided to fire that guy! lol. In fact alot things were way, way worse. Theyot better, a couple of teh members taht are still around said he was difficult to work with, which I took as meaning that he was demanding and actually wanted to get something done.

Before they were spending a ton on DoCs, so now they should be able to re alocate some of that saved $ and pay for more updates/site maintinence of the website. We'll see though.

Expecting the boys to be spotlighted for their upcoming state cups would be a stretch. Especially if they are still having problems cleaning up all the dead ends.

If they are having private/secretive meetings still, then all is not well and that transperancy that they *talk* about, is just that, talk.

You've guessed wrong because two board members have kids on these teams. Lol.
While it is a great accomplishment for these teams to make it this far I will say that you put too much effort this early in their lives on results. It's parents like you that are ruining this game.

And a couple of board members have kids playing at other clubs too. What does that say about how committed they are to good ol' WT_FC?

Board members with kids in the club is probably the stupidest thing I've heard of in a long time. Here's an idea, lets put parents in charge of soccer minded people..

You should be more concerned about your sons academics than anything else.
Next, look at who will be on his team....if he has some buddies on the team that are good people and stay away from trouble than stay with the group.
Then look at the parents...if they aren't whacko than stay with the group.
Finally, make sure the coach is a person that is going to teach life lessons through the game of soccer.....if the coach is a good person than stick with the team.

If you want more on the soccer end you can hire private trainers for that. That is where specifics are taught anyways.

Knowing most of the boys that play in Clark county there might be one to two solid Div 1 players other than that you have naia level players.

If your child currently only trains on the days that they have training then he is behind already. Unfortunately even in the Portland area there is a shortage of coaching....paying more will not get you more in the pdx metro area. Top level coaches make $20k and if I'm not mistaken vantucky barely charges over $1k to play in the club and they are not going to find quality coaches with that fee structure.

You can come across the river and play for another club but plan on paying around $500/year and have the same quality coaching

At WT they wont know who the coach is either, or if he has a C license or an abusive ahole, much less "teach life lessons".

Transparency

I have to say my issue and only real issue is transparency.

Im sure there are lots of goings on to try and arrange coaching assignments for all the teams that are trying to be made for next season not just HS Boys. The lack of information coming from the new DOC other than to the chosen few tells me not much has really changed. There are those on the inside (normally the same money crony's as before) and those of use on the outside that get thrown a few bones to feed our knowledge appetites, this of course brings in the rumor mongers to twist things to suit their agenda.

Not sure what we can do about it, its not just WT_FC its a model that all clubs work around.

How hard is it to simply post some news on the website ever month? What they're working on, upcoming dates, what to expect, etc...
