When did the communites of Lake Oswego, Tigard, West Linn, THUSC & FC PDX (current OPL) decide to introduce the philosphy of of saving money? If that were the case they would of never joined the ECNL.
The OPL fell apart with the mass departures over the last 2 years to the OYSA.
Now left with FC, LOSC & THUSC to play scrimmages agaisnt each other. Prior to the collapse, the OPL had teams from Bend, Salem, Eugene and Medford. The idea of saving money wasn't in place when the OPL had the entire state in their leagues
You don't get to say now due to this, it's about saving moneysince so many of your teams left. Nice try. Cute but it doesn't match history.
Hard to follow when you talk out of both sides of your mouth.
The OPL is not a league of choice for the top teams at FC Portland, THUSC or LOSC.
That's the PR nightmare within their own clubs, by electing to play anyplace put their home (OPL)

It makes no sense if they wanted to keep it cheap and not travel.
Which is it?
Having their message now match what's left in their league--is not only disingenuous it's really just a convenient theme that doesn't match what they have historically done.
They wanted control of the state, lost it. Lost competition joined the OYSA and ECNL.
All packaged around the comical notion of doing what's best.
Toast.

You would look at their website and the history of OPL would be revised to make it look like "this" is how things always were. OPL at its core is a money ploy by a bunch of marketers. Just like you have design changes in shoes they would change their mission/philosophy/history. There is nothing wrong with changing your approach if demanded by the market, it is just when you try to deny the past it comes across shallow.
