And let me add, you sound really level headed about this. I've got some friends whose dds are doing this and for the most part, they are level headed as well. However, I do know some people who think that ECNL is a magic wand and they are fully expecting that their dd will suddenly be a top player and are expecting the offers to roll in. I wish more parents would keep a level head in this and realize the realities of their dd and of the program. I do think that some of their unrealistic expectations are going to create a lot of tension at home and a lot of let downs along the way.
    thank you.
Who knows if my DD get a scholarship out of this....it really doesn't matter to me....she knows that she is going to college no matter what....we are not doing ECNL for college. It's one of many choices to play, we chose it....She is learning life lessons.....how to win, how to lose and how to manage herself when she travels alone......good stuff in my opinion...

    I don't mind spending $8500 for this.

I know our girls are having their meals catered and the cost is about 50% of eating out. We are the 16s and we are not above $8,000
You are paying more per player by booking the group airfare. Take a look at your itemized bill.

There are less expensive ways to learn the same life lessons. From looking at some of the posts from ECNL people she is learning some lessons how not to act when she is an adult.

We have done the math. You may find 1 or 2 cheaper seats on Orbitz, but we have done the math

Getting a scholarship, if she isn't picky, is probably within her reach if she's any kind of player. Now, it might be at community college, but it's still a scholarship and she plays college soccer. I guess what I am saying is that if she is at least somewhat athletic and has some skills, she probably can find a spot. It just depends on if she is picky about where she goes and if playing soccer is important.

The best thing to do is talk to the coach and have the coach give her an assessment of what schools she should target, if at all. Then send emails and see if they show up. If they show up and they like her, she will likely hear something. If they don't, you can have the coach try to contact the college coach(s) to see if they are interested (since coaches are pretty connected). They may provide direct feedback. And if coaches show up and then don't contact you, even if you keep emailing them and telling them how much you like their school and program, well then move on. They are not interested if they don't respond. Can't tell you how many parents don't get this.

I am not sure how much math is required. You can just go online and there are plenty of seats on direct flights that are cheaper than what your club is charging you for your team ticket.

its over 10,000 if you havent seen it anywhere on this site. Ten thousand or one thousand ten times or dont play from what this site says make sure you have ten thousand. Ten thousand. Ten thousand. Ten thousand. Ten thousand. Not 9 but ten thousand. Not 8500 but ten thousand. Its easy pay ten thousand and you are elite. Remember ten thousand and you will be just fine.

Actually our club is NOT charging us for group travel. The beauty of CU is we have the flexibility in how we travel and we explore on-line and group travel. Recently we found that group travel was saving our team about $100-$150 per player, but our San Diego trip is what cheaper on-line. I know you want everyone to think we are getting "fleeced" by our club.
