So do those travel dollars feel any different than your dues as they flow out of your wallet? Is there any player who seriously just pays ECNL dues and then doesn't travel?

Your whole argument is so superficial. "You can buy this car and it only costs $2,000 for the engine and frame, if you want the body, the seats and the tires it will be around $8,000 depending on how many tires you choose to have"

I think the point is that the travel is something of value and that is what you are paying for, not to the club or the coaches. If you don't think the travel, or playing at those tournaments are important, then it would not be valuable to you or your family, then that is fine. Don't do it.

the funny thing is the same OPL group that stands by their league that is played in their culdesac makes fun of OYSA and travel costs to play in a league.....they have a kid in ECNL paying $8500 to travel and play ****e teams in Idaho

Wow, you people have serious issues. You're bashing people you don't even know and for what purpose? There is clearly something wrong with you. You are way too obsessed over what some families choose to do. Who cares if their children want to play ECNL? Why do you care and how does it affect you in any way?

And you chose not to. Why do you care?

A better analogy is "you can buy this car and it is only $2,000 for the engine, frame, and one seat. If you want the body (uniforms), tires (travel fees), and extra seats (for family), it will cost around $8000-10000 depending on how many seats and tires you want."

You are assuming you are talking to mature, emotionally stable adults....I agree with you 100%, not sure why people who choose not to do something have to tear down everyone who does. It is sad.

because I'm paying $8500 for this crap! We will finish the year because we committed but we will not be back. I don't even think the Thorns is worth the money right now either

I know the scores as my DD was there....it ended up in a scrimmage, we tied 2-2.
I'm paying this type of money and they can't supply the refs? W T F?

I was told that OYSA took all of the refs.

You mean results of games where either they didn't pay for the referees or the refs felt compelled to not show up. Or did someone forget that there were games last weekend?

Two games were played. It is a bummer that the refs didn't show up for the early games, not sure who messed up on that one.

I don't know either, but I would start with Tom and Fraser.

It was FC Portland's home games and they were responsible for refs.
