    3rd ecnl club coming soon!

There is another ECNL club coming to Portland!

This is a great thing for PDX, because the third one will actually have the infrastructure and quality to get it done.

You TA lemmings don't quite get it, do you. Need to kill the Academy, not add more.

The Academy will be very strong and will produce very high ratio of college offers.

Don't count on it. Failing early and the best are jumping ship already. Probably last year for the Academy.

this is true, there were almost three to start off last year but one of them didn't get their ducks in a line soon enough. Interesting that this will happen.

                absolutely!
the first two that received the ECNL bids are not producing an "Elite" product and I'm not talking the players I'm talking the staff and the organization as a whole....neither are professional enough.

I am interested in who will win the third bid....hopefully someone more professional and with a better coaching staff than the same old dudes that have been around for years.

What would make it all interesting is if the Timbers were able to get the Thorns Academy into ECNL and then subsidize it and get sponsors to bring the cost down. I could see it as being very effective in gaining participation away from competing more expensive clubs. Costs do matter to many and then adding in the Thorns affiliation and access might be a sweetener.

Alas, as much as I would love to see something positive like this happen for Oregon female soccer, I don't think it likely.

Why do you think this? I guess ANYONE can say ANYTHING. How would anyone verify this?

I agree. But then again, everyone with half a brain agrees.

If you believe everything you read on the internet, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend. He's a French model.

This would be a very positive development and overcome some of the challenges we are having getting talented players.
