there are about ten OPL teams that decided to play OYSA this spring and rightfully so. Why destroy everyone in OPL when you can get challenged in the OYSA league. The top teams should play in OYSA. OPL has it's market. The OPL teams that you see in OYSA this spring are the only true "Premier" quality teams that OPL has.

The agegroup that everyone will banter about all Spring is the '01 girls where FCPDX Pre-ECNL is. The crazy parents of girls soccer will be out in force. FCPDX loses or wins and this forum will blow up...pretty stupid I must say. If FCPDX doesn't win league and/or State Cup it should be disappointing...
The nice thing about being at and OPL club is that you get to choose whatever is best. TA teams don't have that option even though many would be better off in OPL.

Hitting the pipe again I see…OYSA teams aren't going to go to OPL for the very reasons they left OPL…All you need to do is read any of the OPL love to realize how blind OPL is to its own faults

The folks at OPL have some serious self-examination to do. They spend all their time trying to deflect any conversation away from themselves because they don't know how to actually change. Until they change they will keep dying a slow death.

The big 3 OPL clubs are doing just fine. Membership is up significantly, travel costs for most teams are way down, and they have total control of their futures. Three things that the TA clubs wish they had but don't.

I can live with this but the coaches didn't know they had an option this winter until it was too late. Next year will be a little different of a story if the coaches in the big 3 OPL clubs are unfettered to make that decision but I'm not sure that's really true.

Travel costs is kind of an obvious one since the teams all belong to one of three clubs. Rec center/liberty HS or Lake O...they can barely even call themselves Portland. Perhaps HiLO rec league would be more accurate.

Actually if OPL history stays true they will never give a clear signal until well after registration deadlines. That way they can claim openness even while magically no one seems to know that until too late.

These decisions are made at the DoC level at FCP. Not sure about the other clubs.

Call it what you want, it's still a better deal all around than the South Central Oregon Rec League (SCORL) operated by the Timbers.

What's CU's policy? Also, is there a policy against having teams in both in either OPL or OYSA?

of evolving from a premier/classic club to a recreational/classic club are outlined quite nicely.

                            Wish granted.

From looking at the leagues, Crossfire is the only club that didn't get the memo. It sounds like you should talk to your DOC about connecting with other clubs in the area so they can direct your teams to the most appropriate level of competition.

Crossfire has teams in OYSA. I watched one get beat up by an Alliance team a couple of weeks ago.
