Sure, to really trumpet you need to play Connecticut ECNL, second to last place currently and a last place team last year. Or CASL, a last place team year after year and with a current GD of -8. Or Birmingham, who top to bottom across age groups are in last or second to last place out of 8 teams. Atlanta fire and their second to last place standing. Yes sir indeed. ECNL is about playing top competition. Development. Fraser and Tom must have left these facts out of their ECNL presentation. And this doesn't even include Boise and Utah, who are getting beaten with regularity. So 32 games on the docket, and about 8-10 are really worthwhile.

Oh, are we talking about ECNL now? Silly me, I thought we were still talking about Thorns Academy bragging about playing games with (not winning, mind you) teams that had participated in FWRL.

Last place in ANY ECNL division is still light years better than the best of OYSA or FWRL. Fact.

I think that is the idea behind the Academy to keep costs within certain parameters.

I would think the local ECNL teams will have to spend a season or two proving themselves before they are regularly pitted against the best at showcases.

They should have disclosed this in the meetings. Everybody thought that they would be playing much better competition.

New teams that join the RCL in WA have to start in lower levels and work their way up. Makes sense to me that ECNL would have similar policies in place for new clubs.

They don't. The ECNL league the local teams play in was set up based on location. They happened to be the closest team to Orygun, to help cut costs. Although, looking at their schedule, looks like the three Colorado ECNL teams are coming to Oregon to play CU and FCP with no return trip. CO Rush is a damn good program.

Actually, some of the ECNL minions have been saying that. Check out the guy who runs around and posts about Gresham, caves and lemmings all of the time. He's the guy formally known as Angry Poster. His kid couldn't even make the Thorns so he puts it down every which way he can.
