It's amazing how much time is spent posting here for both sides. Must be stay at home moms?

Her team plays in FWRL now and probably will as she ages. They may or may not get into one of the bigger tourney's down the road. But she can do that locally. Why does she need to go play with the thorns down the road? It will be the same exposure she will get with her club. They are a talented team and more importantly they're friends. So why in a year or two do I want her to go play on the Thorns academy team?
Then it may not be for her. If you already have s team that is pushing your player and opening the same doors, I would totally stay with the known. If however you are not getting as much exposure or competition it is a way to get more.

Isn't it ironic that they used Thorns in the same sentence as exposure and competition

They were definitely exposed last weekend.

Don't be mean. They're just kids. ECNL is getting better.

I know, to bad there wasn't some light at the end of the tunnel for the thorns.

There is, but it's an oncoming train. Don't be surprised if you never see an announcement for Thorns Academy tryouts this year...

You poor ECNL families sure are nervous that your investment might not pan out.

What "investment" are you talking about? It's youth soccer, nothing more, nothing less. If you want it to be more than that, you have a serious problem

Don't feed me bull. I'm paying top dollar and expect results.

Since we finished 4th in FWRL we won't have to pay the full amount. That was to go to Crossfire Challange and Surf. Going to save me 1500. I just hope scouts come to our PCU 'B' team match up.

Wonder how those NWCL results are panning out.

Encl families are spending a fortune and are worried and insecure.

I think you just perfectly defined the typical Thorns Academy parent. $3600 to do the same thing any $1500 team could do, maybe even less, and certainly with far worse coaching.
