Mostly Timbers players made it, which was no surprise. But great training in my opinion.

Must be your first year in the program. Going forward, you can always find them in the same place on the Timbers website. And usually, but not always, they are posted a day earlier than they say they will be posted.

Great playing opportunity at Regionals. Great training, not so much.

There were lots of kids from last year's teams that didn't bother with ODP this year.

True. Particularly opl team players. Also, seems if a player makes it one year, they make it the next also even if another player has surpassed them so many players don't bother going out again if they don't make it the first year. Odp really isn't what it used to be and they take so many marginal players at the beginning that many of the best players at our club don't go out for odp because they can't spare the time & money to train with 40 players, half of whom are pine riders, B team or rec team players. Makes odp a better option for those players and there's more of them so I guess it's all about the money.

There are two B team players that I know that made ODP teams. It's puzzling maybe they are just picking up kids for their dashing good looks or personality. Must be some politics involved somehow but that seems dumb.

                    Or perhaps...

They were not identified at club tryouts?

Sorry your kid didn't make it.

Truth is there are a few very good players on those rosters, and lots of average players.

True of most teams in Oregon!

The quality of soccer players on the girls side in Oregon has been in steady decline for many years. Lots of average players, few very good players.

And it is highly likely that a "B" team player from a good area club is a better fit for the style an ODP coach wants to play then a "A" player from a marginal club.

Doubtful. I'm guessing they picked Timbers players. Why wouldn't they? They are a Timbers run ODP. They want to develop their own members. It will probably make the really good players move to the Timber's clubs. I'm talking about the boys.
