90%+ of your life you will be a REC player

Everyone who is playing organized club youth soccer in Oregon ages u6 to u18 will eventually become a REC player again, most after High School a select few will have to wait till their college days are over.

This is the circle of life for Oregon's soccer players.

Reading posts about how some ridicule and dismiss players as REC is really insightful.

The irony is that's where we all end up, REC players. It's unavoidable like death and taxes.

The only people who disparage rec, rec players and really any players at all, are those who have never and could never play at any level.

Most of these parents with their strident and self righteous opinions have never played the game themselves.

It should be required for any parents of players to have to play in a parents game at least once per season, where the kids can all stand around and yell instructions at them and criticize them. That would improve things for everyone right quick.

Speak for yourself - every game I play is el clasico or the Merseyside derby, even if it is an 4th division over40 game. :D

You seem insecure, try-outs must not have gone as planned for you and your dd.

When someone tells it like it is, without mixing words or agendas.

Here is a sampling of the best someone could bring to the table in a response.

It seems difficult for a few people to wrap their minds around this axiom, some have extrapolated this simple truth (% as REC player during ones career). Is really the result of their child not doing well at tryouts and others have mentioned getting therapy due to this phenomenon.

Happy Holidays to the 'state' of Oregon Youth Soccer.
