Again, even with WCDA and NWCL, it's not significantly different than top club teams for cost.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostTravel costs for league aren't the great. U14's have 1 trip to Boise, 1 to Seattle, and 1 to the Bay area. And then 1 showcase tournament, likely in SoCal. That's less travel than some of the top club teams are doing at U12 and U13.
Ding, ding, ding!
We have a winner!
This IS the point of ECNL. To get the best talent possible to play each other regularly and to keep the costs down.

This endless justification of the ECNL price is stupid. It will go on as long as you keep trying to argue back.
Any consumer making a buying decision looks at the total cost, including options etc...you wouldn't buy a car without the wheels.
What I get confused by is all the people who argue their "elite" solution is "no more expensive than". If it is Elite it should be more expensive shouldn't it? You are not going to get a Ducati for the same price as a moped.
If you are still uncomfortable with the price you are paying that is your own junk to work out.

No, I just paid money to join the ECNL blog and It's infinitely superior to TA. I didn't realize how much in the dark you TA folks are. I still monitor this site just for giggles. Especially the OYSA parents that think their league is so good. Te he he he. It makes me laugh every time.

The Oregon ECNL folks think that we should listen to them to understand what ECNL is about. That's laughable. They have no idea beyond what little they've heard from the DOCs. It's like they just bought a old used Jaguar but think they can tell everyone about Jags, just be virtue of owning one. Save your ECNL is this or that speach because you have no idea what it is about. 80% of you have never played against an ECNL team.

There are many possible motives but what I know is that both clubs are offering regional players more intense training and better competition than has ever been offered in the region outside ODP. Will the costs rival playing for a competitive traveling team and OPD? Yes.
Does that guarantee a college scholarship? No but it gives regional players who have not been anointed the best a superior opportunity to improve their game and measure it against the best female players at their age and no locale team including the Academy can say that!
