Who are the best personal trainers?

Ok - in the spirit of the best area coaches...

We all have had some experiences with additional training outside of regular club practice. Can anyone recommend some great personal trainers in the area? Looking for someone who is fantastic at helping develop ball skills and creativity as well as someone for speed and agility.

Gaff, and Aaron Grubb for ball skills,

Speed and Agility= You and your significant other look in the mirror. If neither one of you was fast. Save your money.

Untrue - you can make fast become faster and slow become a little less slow with good training.

Let's quantify this as someone who performs individual or group training on the side (outside of a club).

I would guess if old Oprah had a kid he/she would be hard to beat in a dash for the bakery ! Would be hard to believe that fat parents make a speedster. There is always plan B (Golf).

That was below the line, even for this crappy forum. Let's try to keep this away from the things that make America really ugly - you know, prejudice and judgment.

Any Coerver certified trainer can be relied on to teach proper technique. It is the only certification in regard to technical training that I feel means anything. That is not to say that it is the only, or even best methodology, but it is the most organized and proven methodology imo. http://www.coerver.com/

Theory and instruction are useless without practical application however and the problem for most kids is that they are not playing the game enough, outside of practices, personal training sessions and super serious league and tournament games. Pick up games, futsal, Sunday leagues, etc are a necessary component to absorbing any skills.

In many cases setting up a regular pickup game with other parents and players from your club (multiple ages), no whistles, cones, coaches, parents, judgement, uniforms, etc. And letting the kids sort themselves out, can be more beneficial than anything else.

Prejudice we can do without. Judgment on the other hand might be something we're lacking...

Last check Golf players have a potential actually make a living at the sport. If you were trying to be funny you may have said bowling but, they too have a potential to earn a living at the sport. I guess the joke is on all those parents chasing scholarships in soccer after all.

Why is chasing a scholarship a joke? A scholarship can get your daughter into a good school, where they can get a good education, and therefore make money not related to a sport (which is the most likely).

This site is usually used for nonsense bashing, but maybe it could be used for something good such as setting up a time and place for pickup games. I know if we were aware of a place that people came to play pick up games I would definitely bring my gu 12( she's a quality player)

unless your DD is in the top 1% she should focus on her grades. 95% of getting into college is academics - focus on that first.
