    NWCL.... Oysa?

There was a thread in here a while ago that people were stating NWCL was not going to allow any teams in who left OPL for OYSA. However, looking at the schedules today, it looks like all the teams kept their spots even the OYSA teams.

    so whats the deal?

Is it only for this year? I asked a DOC of a TA club a while ago and he said they were working with NWCL to have it so OPL gets 2 spots and they get 2 spots.

Nothing sorted for next year yet. If you're concerned play in OPL this fall.

Not concerned at all. Just wondering what happened to all the guarantees that we wouldn't be playing this year. I'm not going to argue one league over the other. The two leagues split and the truth is neither league has enough good teams at the top to make the seattle teams happy with continuing playing NWCL. To keep it as competitive as they can I think they will work out a way to keep getting teams from both leagues.

Washington Timbers are the only TA club guaranteed spots each year.

That's the story I've heard too. Had to be able to offer something to their members now that they've been effectively dumped from the RCL.

Based off of last falls results possibly? At least for this up coming season of NWCL?

The OPL tried to bring this all back together. The Timbers are not interested. Notice it is the Timbers negotiating and not OYSA.

The OPL wanted to run the fall league with the NWCL qualification process continuing as it did in the past. OYSA would get the winter high school leagues and the spring season with the State Cup.

There would be a unified OYSA and OPL card that cost $22 that would be split between the two leagues.

The OPL gave far more than the Timbers yet Gavin wanted more.... as in all of it. No compromise.

a "unified card" That is the biggest bunch of baloney. This is a horrible a idea. Separate is not unified. One card for 2 organizations is far from unified. It's like putting a bandaid on a broken leg and pretending it's healed.

We all need to be in one league. End of story. The rest of this pointless. Neither side is doing this right. I have no idea why either side has parents that are sticking up for the organizations. Both sides are messed up and need changes. Stop advocating for one wrong as opposed to another wrong. Start advocating for what is right!

Looks like TA teams were allowed to play after all.

Also looks like there was no cap for quality of teams or number of teams. Just a free for all traveling league.

U14 girls looks pretty good except for the THUSC Silver team being in there.

That is exactly what the OPL proposed (including the OPL operating Directors Cup in late fall) as it would put all teams in the same leagues playing each other AND allow ALL teams to qualify for all possible Regionals / Nationals. This proposal would give everyone everything, except that the Timbers wouldn't get 100% of the money. THAT was the stumbling block.

And your DD's team STILL didn't make the cut. Maybe next year...
