ECNL and Thorns Parents Truce

How about we all just declare a truce? The sides can stop saying good and bad about the other. Think of all the free time that would appear magically.

Why don't we all wish each other well and go work with our daughters on bending the ball around a wall? Or maybe do something fun and take a few photos?

As an Oysa parent I must admit I do not agree with the timbers motives towards ecnl. My youngest is just now starting competitive soccer. I am glad I get to watch how ecnl shapes up in oregon over the next few years. We will likely be moving to a club that has ecnl status. I don't feel the timbers can bring anything close to the level of ecnl. A few travel tournaments and playing in a league that does not have high level competition really does not even compare. I just hope the clubs with ecnl can get everything running smoothly over the next couple of years. I am disappointed in the timbers organization for trying to send out so much misinformation. Most parents and players will recognize the truth over the next couple of years.
Yes I am a transplant from a city that has ecnl. It does reign supreme over all other venues. What is happening in oregon is not really much different than what other ecnl organizations have faced. I do feel like the timbers, Oysa, ect. Have really banded together to disrupt the progress of ecnl. My feeling is that the timbers alliance really does not care unless they have to. Ecnl is here now, so now they care. Something is wrong with an organization that operates in this manor.
My oldest is now playing in college. If I had one piece of advice to give parents it would be simply to not have loyalty to any one club. The club is there to serve you, not you to serve them. Find the best fit for your daughter. If she is really a top level athlete then ecnl is the obvious choice.

Timbers couldn't care less honestly. There are two people that post 97% of the ECNL antagonizing posts. And they do it simply because they don't like the two ECNL parents that post 97% of the pro ECNL posts on here.

ECNL does care what timbers are doing and timbers don't care what the ECNL clubs are doing. It's just some active parents.

Only an obvious choice if $$ isn't an issue. Not everyone can afford the dues. Some of us are barely scrapping to make a "normal" club fee payment

I know youth soccer isn't cheap but Oregon is far cheaper than WA, CA etc The club fees there for non ECNL are much higher.
