Best soccer player ever from Oregon

was developed by playing against boys in Hillsboro community as a young girl and a middle school-er.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiffeny_Milbrett

Present day, It's amazing that parents actually fork over money to 'private trainers' vs letting nature take it's course.

On top of that they feel the need to pay for a meaningless acronym so they can imagine that their dd is being developed.

When all they have created is a money pit.

    Proud to be an Oregonian.

I doubt you have heard her talk about her prospects playing against todays female players. She readily admits that she would have a hard time making the teams she made and definitely would not be the standout she was WAAAAAAAAY back then.

The best players that break through to the elite levels regardless of their club or trainers, are the ones that want to play all the time. They are the instinctive players that are a second faster and have that killer instinct on offense or defense.

          My pick

Danny Mwanga, OSU, PAC-12 player of the year, first pick MLS, etc. Not currently being utilized for his talents, should go to Europe to play.

Danny is a top player from this area, but not developed here. He was already a top player before moving to OR....

Why do you care so much about what other kids and families do?

If it works for your family to go out to Hillsboro and play then you should go for it.

Not sure if you noticed, but the world has changed a little over the last 35 years.

Then again if it works for you then you should continue doing what you are doing and be happy.

                Agreed.

She also had quite a bit of help from this relatively unknown coach when she was growing up. You may have heard of him. I think his name was Clives Charles.

Chad Barrett or Erik Hurtado are both better than Danny. Rubio Rubin may turn out to be the best yet but it's still too soon to tell. He certainly had the most success at the youth national team level and by going straight to a European professional career.

Chad Barrett was already in HS and a national team player by the time he moved to Oregon.

                            He is from California.

Forgot about Nate Jaqua. Might be the only Oregon player with senior MNT caps. Not sure about that, but I can't remember others who do. He also had a long pro career.
