So what happens to the quality of the Academy if the Copa girls don't tryout? 80% of the best OPL girls are doing ECNL so without the Copa team could they qualify for regionals? No Regionals no Surf!

It will be the academy or staying at WST as none have gone over to ECNL. Given all of the calls from other U17 and U16 girls, the tryouts will be very big. A lot of numbers. And you will be surprised at the number of ECNL girls that will be there. A lot of them can't afford ECNL or do not want to do it.

I've heard the opposite. The Thorns girls and the only decent TA girls team are going ECNL.

Absolutely untrue. The upcoming U16 WST Timbers are staying put. ECNL is too much $ for what you get here in OR, and the Thorns Academy has some work to do before the team will think about trying out.

Tuesday will tell the story. We do know that none of the WST U16 girls have tried out for ECNL. And also a number of them have indicated they are going to tryout for the Thorns. Tuesday we will know for sure. I suspect it will be all and at most, a couple don't show, but doubtful it will be many.

Correct, although some of the U16s will probably tryout as their coach will encourage them to. If they make the team, it will be good for them. If any of the ECNL teams are wondering where their girls are, they can come over and find them on Tuesday at the tryouts.

Well I hope you aren't talking about the current U16 WST team, which will be U17 next year. I know that none have tried out for ECNL and the majority are going to go to the Thorns. If you state anything differently, you are lying. You are not in the know on this.
