I will take a stab at this:

        Your player:

        Room $140 (incl tax) x 2 divided by 4 = $70.

        Food: $40 per day x 2 = $80.

        Manager $140 hotel + $40 food x 2 days = $360 divided by 15 = $24.

So to send your player, I'd think that $179 would be ballpark, with some over/under.

Add another $24 if you pay for coach. So you are looking at $200.

I know in my particular case, my costs are not a concern. I eat well, drink freely at the bar..etc. So book me for $600 or more for the trip, not including gas/airfare/rental car.

Also, do most clubs have the parents cover the team manager's hotel and expenses if the managers have kids on the team?

Just curious here, didn't think we'd have to fork over quite so much for a weekend of soccer for one person yet, making our weekend well over a grand if one parent goes as well. Is this something we just need to get used to? What is an appropriate age for this?
A thousand dollars is way too much. You got suckered.

Future ECNL parent is my guess.

I think your math may be a little optimistic. For simplicity sake let's say this is a three night stay, if their are three kids per chaperone each kid will pay for one full night of hotel (depending on hotel can be a slow as $60). Next you have contribution to gas, say the chaperone drives an SUV, 450 miles including there and back is not unrealistic. Figure around $30 in gas, or $10 per kid. Kids need to eat, probably $20-30 minimum per day. That puts you at $130 before splitting coach costs, and tournament registration. All in $200 for the weekend is doing well.

But at that age, putting the kids in their own room is wasteful. They are paying 25% more for lodging than they need to.

                  Seems reasonable to me.
