You're joking right? THUSC couldn't even get ECNL on their own. They needed Crossfire's help.

I'm glad they have it, but let's not be complacent here.

Well, regardless they have it, did your club try? You guys just sit on this board and tear things down. You are the problem with soccer in Oregon. I don't think taking pot shots at another club helps anyone. I agree the United tournament looks anemic, but how do we improve it? Anyone with some positive answers instead of the usual responses?

One answer is to reduce the number of summer tournaments in the Portland area to maybe 3-4 total. Currently there are:

        Crossfire Summer Challenge
        Cascadia Challenge
        Clash at the Border
        United Cup
        Capital Cup
        PCU Classic
        Beaverton Cup
        Nike Lake Oswego Cup
        Chinook Cup
        Mt. Hood Challenge

Reduce the number of tournaments and more teams will have to enter each tournament (or travel elsewhere). Fields will be larger and each division will be more competitive.

        One possible schedule would be:

        June: Clash/Cascadia combined tourney
        July: Beaverton Cup
        July: Nike LO Cup
        August: Mt. Hood Challenge

OYSA can control the number of tournaments they sanction for the US Youth Soccer registered clubs if they want.

Good idea. I probably would have listed the same 4 tournaments locally. Each one gets a little bigger and better, drop off the anemic ones that just dilute the better ones. I would drop Cascadia from this list entirely, I suppose. It is a step below clash in my opinion.

Does this affect club revenue?? Reason I ask is would there have to be some kind of revenue sharing set up?

I would suggest United Cup & Beaverton Cup combine but we all know that would never happen.

Quite possibly the dumbest statement I've heard in a while. If Thusc can't run a piddly little tourney then how are they going to run their ECNL program?

Whether the tournament schedule is great or not, these tournaments are big fundraisers for clubs so they will be very hard to unwind them.

The two are not the same, your statement is dumb, or your just trolling. THUSC is one of the top girls programs in the state, no one denies that.

I doubt THUSC tourney makes much money with such low interest. Not much money to make with so few teams after field, ref, and other costs. Shut 'er down.

                          weird...

I just noticed in the BU11 Gold division which is playing for the NWCL spots that a couple of teams are playing against FCPDX Navy and White but they are not on the Standings list...

does anyone know why? I see them on the schedule but not in either group standings

which one is the "A" team?

                            Really?

                            this is getting ridiculous

Does it matter when your team loses to both of them?
