Since the Academy is a blend it's hard to see how it's going to play out for the better 16's with parents who have the means.

Only the 16's

I have been talking to a lot of people about the choice between Thorns Academy and ECNL. This is all since the latest info has come out from the thorns. The lions share of the people I am talking to are leaning towards the Thorns. Seems like better bang for the buck and nice to be tied to the thorns 1st team.

Look they are going to be broken up regardless so why hold back the better players if the folks have the money?

If they go to the Academy only 6-8 of the team will be carried over as this is a BLENDED age group and there will be other top players to make this team better!
Not sure why any player on this team whose parents can afford the difference would want to do the FWRL AGAIN as an academy member unless they have an offer in hand. That would kinda like being held back a grade!

So you are a top 98 what to do
I have not heard very much from the parents of the 98's. There are only going to be 8-10 openings on the Academy. What are you going to do if the 97's are strong at her position? Are you going to NOT try to play ECNL?
