Read for content! I was questioning if the girls are going to stick together why should switch they switch at all?

The reason to go to the ECNL on an individual basis is the competition and the exposure. That can not be said of going to the Academy therefore there is little reason to switch if they are going to stay together.

You're beating a dead horse. Your point is old, has been explained thoroughly in this forum. Why do you insist on ignoring what has already been answered by asking a question that is stated in such a way that proves your own ignorance.

Maybe you should think a little differently, if the decision of the team is to go tryout for the academy and it makes no sense from your perspective, try to figure out what this group of girls know that you don't. Maybe there's more to the puzzle then you're assuming.

I'm also not sure why you get mad when am ECNL coach gets made fun of, but not when an ECNL parent is using the exact same attack and argument against the Academy coach.

These questions are the opposite of ignorance as they are questions addressing the FACTS.

The question has not and will not be answered until we see who shows up for the Academy tryout. I have read claims both ways. I have not seen even the supposed parents of the Copa players saying they are going to try out address the limited playing time. So until I read one of those parents actually address the question of playing time and coaching and what it is they see as a benefit I'll press for an answer from an actual Copa parent.

Lastly questioning the qualifications of TE is hardly making fun of her.

And what in the world are you talking about limited playing time? That's probably a question you should be asking the ECNL folks. The one's on teams with 22 players anyway. Of course there are a handful with 15, so playing time for them won't be a problem, but ensuring they have enough warm bodies to put 11 players on the field consistently is more of the question.

Lastly, the coaching is AT LEAST on a par with what ECNL is offering. And given that it isn't a coach that has basically delivered nothing after years of coaching here (do I need to name names or can you figure that one out on your own) I think people are fairly excited. Janine has a good reputation as a coach and Tina is young, energetic and appears enthusiastic. Both of them have experience from the WNT which is something that none of the ECNL coaches have. I guess we will see tomorrow night what it looks like. How many ECNL parents will be peering into the field to see who is there and who isn't. Given the access, if you don't have a dd trying out, you won't be let into the stadium. That will keep the people with no life from hanging around to stick their nose in business that doesn't pertain to them.

Third, if you had bothered to educate yourself about the ECNL schedule you would know that the 16's & 17's are going to have twice as many meaningful games so even for the one team that has 22 players getting meaningful minutes is not going to be a problem.

Lastly, what are the Timbers scared of holding closed tryouts?????

So with a bench of experienced coaches within the TA with actual track records of success with high level teams they reached down for the show horses with no demonstrated track records.

It will probably work out nicely for the level of competition the Academy will face but stop pretending this is what the Timbers were selling all along.

I know I am short changing the accomplishements, but Tom has done the following with Sodium and Onyx. I believe Neon's is just as impressive.

It's just that they are at the stadium and there is no access since the gates are locked (standard operating procedure for the stadium, not for tryouts) so you will have to come in via the tryout gate to watch the tryouts. If you're not walking in with someone trying out, then why are you there?

I love how the pro ECNL crowd march Tom out there when asked for credentials. Is he coaching all 10 teams? And it's not as if Onyx has been really great as of late in out of state tournaments. However, so CU has one coach, and he isn't coaching the age level of the academy so it doesn't really matter (he only took his Onyx players in tryouts too, so it's not as if the U16s that weren't former Onyx had anything to tryout for). You pro ECNL folk are so funny. You can only put down the academy, but offer up nothing as an alternative and then complain that a bunch of girls are going over there. Maybe if you offered up something better than what you're offering up, it would have been a difficult decision.
