It's juvenile to come on here and gossip/trash on people and soccer clubs. How about I ask you in a nicer way. Would you be so kind as to post the club that you and your DD are from so that we may compare the results of all the age groups, boys and girls?

I am from ***C and the club does have issues. That is clear as several players left this year. I think the boys side is not in bad shape but, the girls side is not doing well. It appears that ***C will be boys premier option and FCSC will be girls as they are slowly adding more teams. Both clubs have DOC that have been there forever so things will remain the same. It might be time for a change in leadership but, it's hard to get rid of the boss when he owns the company. In this case only 2 clubs in town and unless you want to drive over the bridge you deal with it or try to find another sport. My question is does Portland have same issues?

Here is an idea. The thread is about Vancouver soccer so just don't click on it. Yes we have a site but since we play Oregon clubs all the time we read this one. If you don't want to read about things in Vancouver then don't click on the thread.

What club my children plays at is completely irrelevant. You wanting to know in order to "compare results" illustrates just how utterly clueless you are. This forum posed the question on how to fix vancouver soccer. Clearly, there are problems within your club. Problems expressed by other posters, some still clearly within your club. Yet all you care about are results. Top players, coaches and apparently entire teams are leaving and you're focused on results? Leaves me scratching my head and uttering, W-T-F-_.

There are too many trailer parks in Vancouver.

Any thoughts on converting one or two into soccer fields?

Don't we all love watching a train wreck? You could film a reality TV show at ***_C: "Trailer Park Soccer Moms"

                      1.

                      Vancouver, Washington
A depressing place, not enough words to describe of how much of a cesspool and ****-hole is. Iv never lived in Tacoma, Washington or other depressing places like Vancouver, Washington.

Im sure there are more depressing places out there, but Vancouver from personal experience takes the cake. No jobs, an abundance of illiterate pieces of white trash, food stamp abusers, ignorant people who seem they have spent their whole life living in a cave. A bunch of wanksters and wiggers, spoonfed bitches who post pics on facebook, myspace, and other bull**** social networks drinking a can of beer proclaiming they are hood and hard.

King of meth addicts and copious amounts of drug abusers, bad weather, a surplus of rain almost 90 percent of the year or more, no entertainment. Downtown Vancouver is dead like a grave, just a bus stop and some drug junkies, pan handlers and some stupid cafes with the greyhound bus station.
Where can I find a place that has no hope or promise and I am 100 percent depressed? That is easy that is

                          Cleaning up

Here's what the GM needs to do.

Remove staff(coaching or professional) long in the tooth and light in output. Judge them by their works, and not just what comes from their mouths.

This ALL by itself will put the entire system into emergency operation and signify that things will be done differently now.

The intelligence of certain DoCs to install only friends or well know individuals throughout the system enables him to maintain his position. This makes him seem as if he's critical to the system. However intelligent this is, it's not wise. For the longterm health of the club and system it requires a more altruistic approach as to ensure its survival.

If you can remember anything at all before all the mergers, the old Columbia Timbers didn't communicate or stand for much. Frankly, during the merg, there wasn't much to absorb, as nothing was built by anyone that was paid to do anything there. Consider that for a moment.

They even failed at spending money cooperating with the city to build fields. Again, chew on that for awhile. They blew a 200K opportunity(grant) and the city decided to go with the "sure thing"(Luke Jensen).

The website never communicated anything. Remember they were charging alot of $ for kids to play soccer. Where did that go......not to a website........not to fields(concession here, some mowing and irrigation fo' sho').......? Do you see the theme here? Now some of this has traveled to the new club.

Frankly I was blown away when the new website came online. For years I've watched Portland clubs always have complete information and updates on their websites. The communication standard in the Couv needs a hell of alot of improvement. The website, and coach are the two things the parents see the most of. It's time someone there figured this out. Paying for a full-time webmaster and losing a DoC would be the biggest improvement the club could make.

If anyone here is actually serious about changing the club, they need to start going to meetings and removing tourist type members via vote, and remove the ineffective old guard and then.......start implementing professional standards.

To close, all of this can be done by the current cadre of individuals there. It's ALWAYS been their choice, but it's seemed through the output, that they've demonstrated a continued disregard for those better global choices.

                          Vancouver deserves better.

Agree Vancouver needs better. Finally a post with substantive content beyond the name calling ("no balls) and clueless ("compare results") comments. The problem remains, however, that the GM was hired by the current regime. If he stirs the pot, he will be sent packing.

Who is the GM boss? Seem like the members of the club need to step it up over DOC? Maybe this is something for the KATU investigators? Without exposure nothing will change. Where is all the money going?
