If you have a boy u11 or older I would sternly suggest not waiting until OPL does something…If it ever happens your kid will probably be in college before you see it.
If they merge, Angela will not have a job.

Should probably give her Gavin's job. Can't do worse...

From all the comments i have heard regarding her ability to run a league I am frankly surprised she still has a job.

Clean em out…Chuck is gone from OYSA, lets get rid of Tom and Angela, and maybe this whole thing can start to work.

Unfortunately they are too tied in with the Timbers to do something like this.
I thought the big reason to support OYSA is that it had an independent board that looked out for the interest of all the players in the state. (Insert laughter here). Apparently that's why each OYSA decision seems to benefit the TA and the Timbers/Thorns start a one team "academy" for apparently no purpose other than to undermine The ECNL teams.

            That's disappointing.

Extremely disappointing! Hopefully, not too late...

This would have been nice but all OYSA is now is a sanctioning body, they provide player cards and sanction the league. This is why your clubs write a check to Timbers for the league that they run, not OYSA.

Why would OPL clubs want to go back and write checks to the Timbers who are competing with them? Unfortunately the Timbers are not impartial. This is the central issue with reunifying soccer in Oregon and why the Timbers should have stayed out of running youth soccer.

When this goes public it will reflect very poorly on the Timbers.

I disagree. The split hurts premier only. If you want to discuss the rest of the state, OYSA has been great. They and the Timbers have provided a lot of opportunities for both coaches and players from smaller clubs that didn't meet minimum club standards in the OPL.

It's a real toss-up in my mind. After lengthy consideration, knowing just how awful Gavin is, I've decided Angela is even more incompetent. Sorry.

This should not surprise anyone BTW. The OPL has already conceded more in an effort to bring soccer back together. Unfortunately, it seems that the Timbers are not really interested in unifying soccer.
hmmm. Portland Timbers (professional soccer club) or OPL (complete amateur hour in every which way you look). Tough call. OPL, please just go away. Do the right thing.

More like amateurs running a professional soccer club. You must know that these guys are the SAME people running youth soccer for years. It is the same people. There should be NOTHING hard to understand here.

Hmmm, primary focus (OPL) or money grubbing sidelight (Timbers)? You do know that it's your kid who plays, and the kids aren't on the Timbers, they just get a patch.

Timbers were smart to basically "hide" behind OYSA and let people think it was OYSA running the leagues when in reality it is the Timbers running the leagues and using OYSA's website to post schedules, rules etc.

I would agree that OYSA has finally done a good job focusing on coach development, something they should have been doing years ago. Once they got out of running leagues this allowed them to do what they should have been doing for the past 10 years.

So by adding the Timbers to the name all of sudden these DOC's and MS are suddenly professionals? Same people pal
