The best thing for any of the ECNL coaches to do is to tell every girl on the existing teams that they are trying out for a completely new team, that they should not expect any favors from being in the existing club and that every kid starts the tryouts from zero. If they do that, then they have a decent chance of getting more of the top girls, but of course that will be split between two teams. But then they will have to make sure they can get chemistry if they choose a lot of new players. And by looking at the landscape of teams at the three clubs, these teams need a number of quality players to be relevant in the conference, much less nationally. Should be a fun first year for these teams.

You mean that just because I am a THUSC parent and my DD has been with the club since PDP, she might not be guaranteed a spot? Everything I've heard is that existing team players who want to play will be given a spot.

Similarly I have every confidence that FC will put their best 20 players on the rosters. they have their club reputation and quite possible their very existence riding on getting this right so look for a very professional approach to building the rosters at the HA age teams.

They weren't satisfied with the turnout and I'm sure expect to pickup more. They left it open for more quality players to join so if you're DD is one of them, its not too late yet. :)
