It's true nobody is coming with them (OPL) for 2014/15

Discussions between the OYSA & OPL have to an abrupt and sudden halt...One OPL member mentioned the word 'Angela' outloud at first meeting...Genius :)

Time to wake up! You were dreaming again…even drooled a little bit…

I am looking forward to watching how the fiscal watchdogs of Oregon Soccer, the remaining OPL members scheme to start draining the OPL reserve to pay for their ECNL adventure.

It will happen, I am sure it kills Tom and Fraser to see that money just sitting there. Maybe they will set up "an elite training program" at the cost of OPL but totally benefitting them…

If you are remaining in OPL, watch the purse strings closely...

Maybe they will give us an MLS patch and a foam Timbers finger to satisfy us.

I knew ECNL would start the death spiral for OYSA.

Quite the opposite…The parents an players who are paying attention are considering if ECNL is a good fit for them. If it is they will try to make the teams, however if it isn't (which will be the case for the vast majority) they should run from OPL as fast as they can…

ECNL will largely be run as its own unit at any of these clubs, cross-training between teams is very unlikely, and the top coaches will not have the bandwidth for the B squads. Not to mention the OPL administratively will be very non-existent.

At the meeting to discuss Cross United's ECNL Fraser and Tom were both heard to say that going forward the best solution for all of their non-ECNL teams will be finding a place in OYSA leagues.

Doesn't sound like a death spiral to me…In fact it appears by getting these three clubs happy with their new elite plaything, we may now be able to accomplish a more united league.
