Two high school game nights, two high school practices the other nights, and then running off to Liberty two nights. Common FC, you have lost it. Four nights a week during the rest of year, not to mention the travel. No ECNL teams in CA or anywhere do this during school. This is a couple of coaches gone nuts. Again, it's not about what's healthy for the kids, it's about trying to build an empire. Your kids are being treated like cattle.

And to the rabid ECNL fanatics, before you hit me with an "if you can't do this obscene schedule you don't have what it takes", let me save you the comment by saying, you're right. I don't have what it takes to drive my kid into the ground so that some club can try to build an empire and further inflate their egos. I don't have what it take to screw my DD's high school education to chase an unrealistic fantasy. I don't have what it takes to drink the cool aid and believe that without one, and I mean ONE, night to focus on studies or just plain recoup you sanity during the week is a good idea. I don't have what it take to send my daughter the message that what defines her is soccer and soccer alone, and not academics, social connections, family time, and or any other interests beyond of soccer.

If you think this is a good idea, whether you have a superstar or superdud, you need to have your head examined.
Maybe the intent is to discourage them from playing HS soccer???

How many top players are pushed during HS season? Can't imagine many with the terrible quality of HS soccer.

I would think that most ECNL players would pass on HS soccer. Seems like too much training, too much running, just too much. Even though HS offers up friendships and comeraderie, it also introduces more opportunity for injuries. Sometimes injuries are in the form of overdoing it on the body, but it could also be from lower level players using physicality over skill to keep up.

For those that plan on doing ECNL what do you think? We know the DA doesn't allow boys to play HS or club. On the surface it sounds harsh, but maybe it is smart.

I'm sorry if I missed it in the 4,000 ECNL post, but did FC mention who was going to coach at each age group?

Not on this crap website. Check their web page. Last I checked Crossfire United was still up in the air.

Crossfire United did. I can't find FC Portland ECNL coach info specific to age group anywhere. Has anyone else seen it published anywhere?

Regarding Crossfire, in looking on their CrossfireUnited ECNL website under the coaches link, it still says that they will announce the coaching staff soon.

Is there someplace else to find this information?

The Crossfire United staff looks pretty solid but there are definitely some new names to me on their ECNL staff. Also one or two surprise omissions.

FC has, overall, the weaker of the 2 coaching staffs.

They sent out a handbook with all of the assignments

I am not sure of they posted the handbook to the web site. It is pretty straight forward no big surprises

No surprises? I don't agree. Especially when it comes to the assistants.

I would tend to agree. Seems to be that they have had LO and THUSC equally split the ECNL coaching staff. I am sure that there was more competition on the LO staff to get selected. THUSC are not as deep in terms of coaches.

Please tell me what success outside our little corner of the good ole US of A the selected LO staff brings to the table?
