    Congratulations oregon on ecnl

Washingtonian here and I just wanted to congratulate you on your ECNL acceptance. It's going to be nice to have some closer regional games and it boosts Pac. NW soccer scene.

This is going to be fun. Why all the bickering on this Oregon site and who are the Timbers?

Speaking of the Timbers... look at the standings. 0-3-5. Last place behind Chivas. 11 points behind the Sounders.

We are Soccer City USA!!! RCTID!!!

How long until that conniving GW convinces Merritt to fire Caleb Porter?

What you're not saying is that you are glad that there will be two teams that you will be able to beat on a regular basis.

Not saying that at all. If your clubs are successful in combining your best players you will be competitive. Seems that your area suffers from an oversaturation of clubs and your better players are spread to thin. (Same as Seattle but maybe to a greater extent?)
ECNL is a great opportunity for female players. If OR embraces this opportunity you'll be fine. I sure hope this board isn't reflective of the greater soccer community cuz you all are crazy! What else is currently out there that's better then the ECNL for top level female soccer players? The RCL wasn't cutting it for us and I can't imagine your situation down there is any better? Just say'in

We have the mythical Thorns Academy. Isn't that better than ECNL?

It's full of jealousy between parents and club members.

But truthfully, while Oregon could have one, and maybe two, competitive teams in some of the age groups, it will only happen if the coaches of the ECNL teams have no loyalty to their current mediocre players. If they keep the mediocre players over better players who tryout from other clubs, then the teams are doomed. It's up to the coaches to show no club loyalty and go with the best that showup.

Isn't it funny how it's always the "better" players that get cut at tryouts???

Let's get back to the more interesting topic. How long until that spineless GW blames and fires Caleb Porter? We have the best GM in the MLS!!

To be successful in the ECNL that is what all clubs need to do.
The ECNL isn't about keeping a team intact because they grew up playing together. There are other leagues for that (ahem).
This is "big girl" soccer and the clubs, teams & coaches are ultra-competitive. If a player can't cut it - they're replaced. That's what the A team is for, or otherwise known as the "reserves".
A lot of parents are in for some heartburn as their former "A" team player isn't selected for the ECNL squad.

hopefully you are right because if the teams stay the same Oregon ECNL is doomed
