FC Portland and ECNL

FC had to merge their u14 tryouts with extended ECNL tryouts and they ended up taking B team players. They stuffed their roster with 22 of average players and this is after they go on a recruiting blitz emailing anyone with a pulse to come tryout.

This is not looking good for FC.

So FC's team has 22 players, but only a few quality ones. And the Crossfire United team only could find worthy 15 players and are hoping more show up? Here's a hint, they won't. If parents have already signed up and paid for other clubs, they aren't going to throw that money away and come sign up with Crossfire. If they were going to come over, they would have come over in the first place. I hope the two U14 teams play well, but I have my doubts.

Why are they continuing to recruit? Do they think that over time, more people will show up? Given that people will have paid at least a portion, if not all, of their existing club fees, why will they throw this money away to come over? Don't you think that if they had a desire to come, they would have come over in the first place and avoided double paying?

As the person who posted the standings above, I agree. Most of the games between these teams (including Salmon Creek) were highly competitive with the girls from both teams battling hard. Ultimately, the placing of any of these teams during U13 doesn't change any lives. It's the dedication of each player to there own development that makes the difference. Not just in their skill but their character.
