Move back to OPL, it is clearly the better choice.

Yes. It has already been stated that the entire club including boys will be paying for the ecnl team and scholarship players. They need your checks more than you need them. Watch this circus play out.

We moved to the Timbers. I am holding out hope it improves, but OYSA has not been a good experience.

OYSA did this years ago when they let a team use an illegal player to win a State Championship. They changed their mind a couple of times and ultimately decided to let the cheating team win. Par for the course!

It looks like OYSA did not post the correct verbiage on the rules. They should have just cut and pasted from the USYSA website.
I think it sucks for the Bend kids, to think they advanced only to have it reversed. I think that it's tough for the Eastside kids, to be excited to play but know that so many people are rooting against them. (did anyone else remember that these are 12 year old girls? or are we all just so eager to bash Eastside that that little piece of data slipped through the cracks)
However. Regardless. The rule is as follows:
http://championships.usyouthsoccer.o..._tie_breaking/
Tie Breakers
In the event teams are tied on the basis of points earned, the team's placement will be determined in accordance with the following sequential criteria:
a. Winner of head-to-head competition (this criteria is not used if more than two teams are tied)
b. Winner of most games
c. Goal differential (goals scored minus goals against) with a maximum of four goals per game
d. Fewest goals allowed
e. Kick from the penalty mark [as described in National Championships Rule 242, Section 2. (c)]
If FIFA penalty kicks have to be taken there will be a draw by the National Championships Committee. The first team drawn will receive the bye; the next team drawn will be the home team against the remaining team in the first contest of penalty kicks. The winner of the fist contest will then compete against the bye team in penalty kicks to determine the round robin winner. The bye team will be the home team. This is only if there are more than two teams tied after going through the Tie Breakers.
Note
If more than two teams are tied, the sequence will be followed until a team is eliminated. The remaining teams will then restart the sequence at Point b, above, until the tie is broken.
This is the National Rule - not Region IV

It really just shows that nothing has changed with OYSA, even with the Timbers involved. It's an unprofessional organization. It's rec league.

It is too bad that the players got the impression they were through based on a misunderstanding of the tie breaker process. That is why it is good to wait until everything is finalized…
