Which means your DD didn't make the squad or there would another grand for traveling to one tourney. If that was a good experience, ECNL is going to be spectacular.

I am not the poster, but I think he was saying that RTC was a good value. And for the one year we did it, I thought so too. We now are at an age where there is no RTC and my DD makes the ODP team every year and goes to Regionals, and that is fairly pricey and we question the value. This year our club team costs are going to be probably $8,000, maybe more, and for that, I would prefer to have done ECNL vs. what we did. Although what we did was pretty good and resulted in strong exposure for our girls. ECNL probably would have delivered better exposure, but what we got was very good. And we still have regionals left to attend, which should be attended by a good number of coaches.

I don't mean to sound negative but from what I am hearing Regionals does not draw as many coaches as it used to. I am sure there will be some but nothing like it used to be prior to ECNL.

What many soccer families do not realize is that college coaches do not have an unlimited budget and the time to attend every event. ECNL events and Surf Cup are the big draws. You only had to be at the Vegas Showcase for the high school ages this year to see how fewer college coaches are attending compared to a few years ago.

More and more players are having to attend ID camps to get seen by coaches if their teams are not in the top events.

Wow, you come off as a real Jerk...maybe there is a message behind you, but the glare from your "sunny" disposition makes it hard to see anything else. Perhaps a case of bourgeois guilt? Anyways, I never heard the OP say woe is me, who is going to pay for me etc...they just asked where do the talented kids who can pay 8 grand a year go. Is there an option? Honestly that is probably a question a lot of people have.

Arrogance is when you look at any others who are not at the same place as you and you assume them to be unworthy. You see yourself as superior, and the bilious spew from your post above screams of that.

As a contrast, I have also worked very hard, and have put my family in a very comfortable place. Every day we are grateful for our opportunities, we are also grateful for the people around us who have impacted us by being a part if our lives. We have built a large organization and every employee is a critical part of making it work. If I can spend time giving advice or support to someone it makes my day.

First you should start by looking up the definition of HUMILITY! If you did and understood what it means you might see why everyone reading your pathetic posts is hoping that you are NOT on their DD's team.

Second, I and no other poster in any of the various threads about ECNL have asked you to pay for their DD to participate. No poster has expressed any sense of entitlement. Yes several have lamented that destructive nature of pay to play sports as it excludes talented individuals from American sports but I do not remember them saying that the rich should pay for their kids participation.

Lastly, Why do feel the need to tell this board how successful you are? Most of us assume that successful people worked hard to get what they have as PDX does not have a large supply of Trust Funder's Having class is not talking about rich you are but enjoying it with out demanding that other people admire you.

Sorry you haven't taken advantage of the economic system that runs this country. Just because I can afford it doesn't mean my kid is inferior. Her Pac 12 offer attests to that. And FWIW, she didn't play on any ECNL team.
