    ATT:

No one is forcing anyone. You stay and play with your club if you're happy.

You better get your kid signed up right now...I have another kid coming at 2:30 and that's the final spot. So, What is it going to take to get you involved in yet another classic soccer money pit today? If you havent already spent enough on gear, uniforms, odp, travel, etc.....think of how much shiney this one will be? Why, all the gals on facebook will love you and faint when you proudly post, "My Dd is an ECNL gal now...woot, woot! ".

Based on what I see on this site, there are far more people angry about ECNL now being here in Portland than people promoting the ECNL.

ECNL is for very few players who represent the top talent in Oregon.

If playing in the ECNL is not for you (or your child) don't do it. There is nothing wrong with continuing to play for your current club.

As Patrick Ewing famously said, "Yeah NBA players make lots of money, but they spend lots of money too". If you don't have the cash then you are out of luck. Obviously, this is a rich kids sport just like golf, tennis & gymnastics. Not saying it is right, but it is the truth.

ECNL is elitist. Why do you think they call it the ELITE CLUBS NATIONAL LEAGUE. If you can't afford it, them just stay where you are.

If you call the terrible clubs they are letting in now elite you are crazy.

If you call the many bad players playing ecnl elite than you are even more crazy.

This ecnl team here is not going to be for the top players. This is a fact.

This is going to be the program with the craziest parents and mediocre players.

You are right there are very few top players in this state. Half won't do it. Half will go to the other ecnl club.

To me it looks like same shiz but now instead of 2k its 8k.

You don't have to buy the car, join that church, frat, etc. If you don't want to.

If they done you wrong, you may do better on the street corner with a sign...

So what are the competitive teams in the state now?

Any idiot knows that US soccer is pay to play at the highest levels. If your DD can't afford to play on Sodium then she won't be able to play on an ECNL team either.

Why be angry about it? Why waste your time posting about it? Why are you worried if this is doomed to fail? This isn't for everyone. It may not be for your child and there is nothing wrong with that. But why are you so angry?

Unfortunately all sports are like this. Soccer is actually cheaper than many sports.

This must be why the bush league parents are upset about ECNL.

Is ECNL really going to use parent coaches to keep costs down?
