It could be that PSPL has a lot of Eastern W but more likely it depends on your age and gender group. Are you saying that you travel more with PSPL? Doubt it. I don't know one RCL team that doesn't have to travel east at least once a season.
Also, the PSPL is growing very quickly. Non-RCL clubs are leaving Wash Youth Soccer in droves and joining the PSPL. So the balance will shift to where there are a lot more western WA teams in the near future.

The PSPL is not as strong as the RCL. There are a couple of good teams at each age group but the depth isn't there like in the RCL. And many of the PSPL teams are in eastern WA (Spokane and Tri-Cities).
In doing so an agreement had to be made between OYSA, ways a and Washington timbers in order to accommodate the high school ages because Oregon plays all high schoolin the fall where boys are in the spring in Washington.
Washington timbers have the option to do RCL at anytime...they can play at higher divisions but will need to submit a resume for voting by all members.
Knowing only the boys program in all of Clark county I really only know of three teams that could do RCL 1 and that is the '99 boys (who sound to be struggling), '02 boys and the '03 boys. I think the '03 boys finished second in state cup so they would have the best chance

My older daughter played against the Pacific girls (their older teams) and we consistently out played them or beat them. Maybe the better girls leave the club at U 13 or U 14 and come across the river to FC PDX or Thusc or WashT?? I don't know but the club isn't nearly as strong or competitive for the older ages.
Yes--they have an ALL WORLD type team at U-11 and can beat teams by 20 goals and walk on water and everything is lollipops, unicorns and rainbows right now but again, just wait 1-2 yrs and we will see where this team is or if they have disbanded or the more talented girls have moved on to a bigger/better club for more training or better training.
It remains to be seen....
All changed with the 03's and now 04's. Pacific FC finally started it's own academy (Future Stars) with the 02's that gave all of their rec teams an affordable place to advance instead of jumping to the expensive (sticker Shock) WA Timbers. Recreation players paying less than $200 to play fall & Spring sessions to $1500 is a huge sticker shock at the time. The 02's didn't work out, because many players already planned the move. A handful of the 03's were play ups in rec soccer and attended the 02 academy, and stayed for the 03's academy. Most of the current Revolution players came from the Pacific's feeder clubs (BGYS, Prairie, Lewis River, Vanc West).
Big clubs are flat fees for basic annual plan. At Pacific the fees around $100 for registration and the rest is team specific to enter in what ever league/tournament they so choose. This is the main reason you cannot compare any two Pacific FC teams to one another and certainly cannot compare to the Big clubs. At Pacific you choose the coach & team not the club. Some teams have better quality coach's than others. That is no different than Big Clubs.
The Revolution is doing extremely well for having volunteer coaches that many will say don't know what they are doing. They must be doing something right. I think Revolution has a bigger threat of losing girls to other sports than to WA Timbers or Portland Clubs.

It's always better for the top players to get out early and get into a club known for developing players, FCP / THUSC / Crossfire for girls.

Today Pacific U13's have two equal teams, and both are now competing against your "B" teams, and Pacific has a 3rd team improving better than average. Neither team has ever had any top girls leave the club for the WA Timbers or any of the PDX clubs. Now, who knows what will happen next year and beyond.

Pacific Rev parents, before you consider another club, learn what happened to other teams that disbanded by going to WT or SC., thinking the grass was greener. They believed what the DOCs told them and some parents bought it hook line and sinker.
Good luck to your girls. You got a good thing going.
