None of the players who joined last year improved due to the RTC. Just another youth soccer money grab...
Wow you certainly are a little upset your kid didn't make rtc. Shame on you for spewing lies and hate. Gotta love parents who think they know development for not just their own kid but for everyone else's and makes judgements of coaches. Sounds like someone was put in the corner.

Have some self respect. Your kid is leaning as you do and from the looks of it, they probably are a whiner who's never been told no and makes excuses and judgements on things they have no understanding of.

    I feel sorry for you.

I'm pretty confident that the $48K that the Timbers grossed in sales last year was a money grab considering they did $8.7mil in sales...you've got to be joking....

Find my something similar for $8/hour for a player.

Are you an ECNL fan? If you are how come we haven't heard you b!tch and moan about the poor coaching credentials for the ECNL teams? There might be one guy between both clubs actually qualified to coach an Elite Team like that.

Like it or not, there are kids out there that are looking for more training and RTC is one of the avenues....the funny thing is that the numbers are growing each year so keep spewing your crap, because when you do 20 more kids show up :)

I didn't post that, but my dd has went to regional camp the last two years and the above comment pretty much hit the nail on the head. Although more could be said about the politics involved. Pay your money, pretend she will be the next Alex Morgan. It's only money and time.

In my brief experience with RTC. Two years ago it was under $200.00, then it went to $500.00 last year and now down to $400.00. First year, 40 kids at try-outs. Last year about 15 and this year about the same. It does appear that it all of sudden became a money grab. If you want the best at these events, it would help to get the costs back down.

I agree with you, but your DD needs lots of work. She can score goals no doubt but couldn't find a teammate to save her life. She has soooooo much work to do it's not even funny. She plays like a boy the same age and that is what has gotten her to Regional Camp, but to make it further she needs to work on her technical game. Even though some on her club team struggle with her personality I love her to death! She has a great future ahead of her if she just buries her head and gets after it.

Maybe they just want players to a see what else is in community. They should not be discouraging kids seeking extra practice.

With all the venom the Parents have toward the RTC program one may wonder if these players are not as good individually as the sum of the team. Seems to be so much hatred towards a program that offers kids extra training at about 10 dollars a session. The players would also get to interact with other players from other teams and so would parents. It's odd the coaches would not encourage their players to do extra stuff outside their team. I don't get it?

I wish my DD could play like a boy. Sounds like an awesome young player. As players mature the other stuff will come. Don't sweat what others think at this time.

Better coaches? That's a laugh. ODP must have dropped TE like a hot rock.

That would be 1 more qualified coach than exists in the entire TA alliance...

And numbers in RTC/ODP are NOT growing each year. They are WAY down from years past. It's a waste of time if you are looking for good training. It's only value is as a method of player identification. But it's not the only one, and not even the best one.

So much venom towards Timbers. Training is not bad. Coaches not bad either. Should at east go to tryout before all the negative comments. Your DD may like it and learn. You don't grow unless you explore other opportunities. This is true on life and soccer.

16 trainings at $400.00. How is that $10 a session. And 15-22 kids divided by 2 coaches. Closer to $25.00 a session and 10-1 ratio. That sounds spendy, especially if your kid is already on a good team, with a good coach and strong teammates. Why pay to practice around lesser players. I am sure just like all teams, there are some good RTC teams. But the few I have seen, they took almost every kid who showed up.

Been there, done that. While DW isn't a horrible coach, he's at best below average (which makes him tjop 1% at WT_FC). The RTC ass't Director AVE is a joke as a coach, and the Director JC, while a nice guy, has never coached anything above Rec. Good luck learning anything from these clowns.

I would take the ODP girls coaches anyday over Tom, Garret Smith aka car salesman, and Frasier even though he is pretty good. But by all means go ahead and compare resumes, they are online.

There is always a mediocre player who's parents do not like that their kid isn't picked or seen as top 5 in the state.

There is always a top 10 player who's parents don't like they have to tryout or be picked from regional staff who don't know who they are and if the kid doesn't show up they don't make it.

If you look at the numbers, there wasn't 1-2 top players in the state 00 who didn't do odp.

Not sure what the big issue is. You can always try to do the Tom/Garrett etc recommendation route and do a PDP which is worse players than RTC.

Either way, just know that there are certainly a lot of people out there who do not like to hear the word no and especially don't know how to take responsibility.

If you could put the faces to the postings on here you would find out that it all makes sense why they are trying to flame, there kid just isn't good enough.

Sounds like someone's kid got cut from RTC. No wonder the venom towards the coaches and probably everything else it seems.

I would hate of that parents poor club coach who has to deal with their anger issues.
